Strange Keywords Rankings

Hi,

When I am checking rankings of our website's keywords and comparing them with one of our competitor we are getting following patterns in rankings:

1. Keywords for which we are rankings our competitor isn't ranking for them

2. Keywords for which our competitor is ranking we aren't ranking for them

We are in almost the same niche.

What may be the issue here

Same niche doesn't imply you both targeting same keywords.

I think you need to double check your LSI sprinkling across the post as well as your competitor for the main keyword among the headings and subheadings. Your title, meta description also

Did you target the keywords your competitors is ranking for?
Why not try an A/B direct test and write one of their exact post but with the lowest Keyword Difficulty and see if there is any abnormalities there.

Same business domain does not ensure that you both guys are targeting the same keywords. Keywords for which you are ranking is a good thing and the keyword for which they are ranking - You should optimize your website in order to rank on that particular keyword and if you already did just wait for that. You dont have the same goal with your competitor. What you are looking to achieve is different from his. So are his rankings
