Yep, depends on mood - alan walker/pitbull/marshmello/taylor swift/local music - Sometimes i need just silence.

I do and do not.
When i work on basic stuff, i listen music.
If i need to focus, i either listen Classical music or Nature sounds etc..
If i have my thinking times, inventing ideas - i do not listen music.

I am listening soma.fm. They have a wide range of different styles. They got some weird stations which i love the most like "Mission Control". It consists of records from NASA space program. So you feel like you're working somewhere at Huston base while moonlanding. The music on soma.fm is non-commercial - that's what i deeply support

I can completely relate to what you’ve said. IT also depends on the kind of music, at least for me. I find that turning on a radio station that only plays hits from the 60s and 70s works the best for me. It all just mixes together until it doesn’t sound like anything at all, but it’s also kind of pleasant at the same time. If I play something more modern with a heavy beat I get really distracted. And if I focus on the lyrics I find that I can’t write anything at all — which is obviously a problem if you write for a living. So sometimes I listen to old-timey music, sometimes it’s instrumental… Sometimes I need silence.

Try this out.. Listen to soft, instrumental music during work. You will be more productive. Music that has vocal, is much more distracting; simply because your brain will try to understand the lyric no matter if you intend to or not. This is the case atleast, with me.

Thanks for the suggestion but I already do that, during the last years I built the perfect playlist and there are tons of instrumentals! Glad to see that I'm not the only one who gets distracted by vocals, but I know some people who think otherwise.

Agreed with this! I'm always listening to classical music while working. I know it sounds old and boring, but it helps me to relax and more focus. My fav pieces for work: Chopin's Ballade No 4 in F minor and Rach's Piano Concerto No 3.

Music is low-key what keeps me alive. I agree with Gogol. While listening to a lot of rap and hip hop, I also switch to relaxing vibes from time to time, this literally chills your mind and kinda clears it too.

It's nice to see another point of view. I would not be able to work as much as I do without music though, it helps me relieving stress and staying focused when I'm having a bad day.

Depends on the work and focus - Ill get up around 5 am everyday. While I do some stretches and basic workouts I have some good pumping music. First hour of work without so I can have deep focus but after that I'm playing a lot of music.
I like dj sets which are full of energy, Loco Dice for example. But RnB for some chill flows is sometimes great as well.
