Not fixing errors on the page, not having a high enough character count/word count for the description, readability needs to be in green if you're using YOAST SEO, not alt tagging your images. Not using HQ images. There's a lot of little quirks like that that really matter.

Having your keyword in your title, description, and URL is important. At least to me. Also, manage the percentage your keyword is in your content.

Biggest mistake is mismatch in the niches of title, description and rest of the content on-page. Lot of sites, especially with new webmasters have this issue.

Not optimizing your article well for your keyword. I see so many people writing and trying to rank while forgetting to include their keyword more than once or twice.
