When I was old enough to get a job outside of the family business I worked as a baker's helper for $1.80 an hour. I was 16 and would get up at 3 AM to ride my bike to be at work at 4 AM. Humped 100 pound bags of flour, fried donuts, scraped the wooden floor on my hand and knees and did whatever the bakers asked to make their jobs easier.

Loved the boss, had a great relationship with his whole family, actually enjoyed the work but hated the smell in the actual bakery at that time of day.

This is the kind of hard labour that turns a boy into a man. A poor individual with no prospects into a dreamer who can achieve his goals. I thoroughly believe in hard labour at a young age to set an idea of what it will be like if life is not taken seriously. Unfortunately this is not enforced in the UK. Too many "Yobos" running around the street with their hoods up stabbing each over for £50. Grats to you.

Users call and we instruct them to open internet explorer to change proxy settings, their response "I DO NOT KNOW WHAT INTERNET IS I AM NOT GOOD WITH COMPUTERS" (Literally raise their voice when they say this) at this points we just headbutt our desks. both agents and customers are so retarded at times.

I started working at the age of 12, on farms in Pennsylvania. For those that have never worked on a farm, don't know what long hard days farm work can be. I spent every summer throwing hay bales on hot humid days on nearly a daily basis. During summer break from school, I worked 7 days a week and typically 14-16 hour days. When I turned 14, I started working in restaurants washing dishes on the weekends, under the table. I continued with this work schedule until I graduated high school. Working long hard hours when you are young sets a work ethic you will carry on for the rest of your life.

yeah, its not bad. i know its probably perfect for me at the moment while in school. just hoping i dont get too comfortable and let time pass me by.

I'm now the Regional VP of EHS & LP(safety & loss prevention), not a bad career, other than I cover 20 states and am on a plane weekly, if not several flights weekly.

most definitely not bad, i've seen some of the top regional managers for my company and they look like they are doing much better than peanuts. my guess is probably around 60-70k+ a year. i couldnt even begin to guess what the national guys are doing. might be where i end up, who knows. wouldnt mind if the pay is right

I now work as a consultant with Appen, nice easy going work from home. In the past I've had some cool gigs, though. I worked as a sous chef and a cocktail bartender for six or seven years. I hated talking to people so I did a lot of flair and magic. Doubt I'll ever earn that kind of money again. I toured with a little jam band for a summer, too. Spent more than I earned and can't remember anything much, but it was a blast.

If you're talking regional/national, you're talking securitas/G4S/Allied more than likely. They got branch(not site managers) making that. Hell, I paid my last Securitas site manager 50k.
The regional jobs ain't bad, but the cake money for those guys is in national accounts, my last NAM made $100k+ and worked from home 80% of the time.

damn..when i get my degree next spring (if i pass) i actually may stay with these guys and see if i can get into a position like that. thats a job i would definitely be interested in going after.

Current position as a Product R&D Senior Executive.

I love my job but i hate the company, I'm glad that I took up this position due to it exposing me to the IM world! Been Self learning for the past 6 months and helping this company run their adw and also doing their SEO. The bad part is that I am being paid peanuts and no raises....

Would love to venture in IM full time sooner or later, Will start executing my first project soon enough hopefully!
