Applied for monetisation but got rejected after putting in 2 months of work into creating the channel. Didn't do any dodgy stuff like buying views, traffic, comments, likes or anything. What the hell? I see heaps of channels out there that have reused content and are monetised! Lots of other channels have images and an audio track exactly like mine in the exact same niche and are Youtube is fine to monetise them. There are also lots of "Celebrity lifestyle" slideshow image channels too also monetised! They just take images of celebs and their cars, houses and make it into a video and add audio. Then you got gamers who make a killing with copyrighted content which is a "no no" according to Youtube, which I've included below the info they included. How the hell are all these other channels getting through and being allowed to be monetised??? I've been seeing recently a lot of channels like that being demonetized and classified as reused content. I saw, I believe it was, Top Tier Gaming get the channel demonetized after something like 6+ years of continuous content.

Why is someone like PewDiePie still being monetised? He should be demonetised too as he is breaching copyright with his gamer videos as "video games" are classified as copyright stuff from Youtube's above snippet in the OP.

Do not copy what other people are doing on YouTube.. They have hundreds of channels.. If you do something unique you will get approved.

Surely Youtube is opening themselves up to a lawsuit for their selective banning of channels while letting others like PewDiePie get away with that. Maybe a class action lawsuit in the future by a bunch of Youtubers who have been demonitised might end up happening.

Not exactly. They don't have to pay you for anything. You're using their video content platform willingly.

What about people doing a "compilation video" channel and adding a voiceover of them speaking of the person they are doing a compilation image slideshow of, is that ok for Google or are they banning those channels too or not approving them to get monetised?

Good luck with that , they been actively demonetizing for 2 years now and even the channels bringing them at least 500k a year got demonetized for using bad words and they couldn't do anything but to use patreons and ask for donations. It's probably all in the terms and conditions you AGREE before you can post a single video.

Do you think asking for donations via Patreon would give them much revenue compared to what they were making before? I created a Patreon account and also asked for donations in the "description" section of the video since the very 1st uploaded video and I didn't even get 1 cent yet lol. This is for a channel with over 150 videos, over 2k subscribers & over 400k views.

Besides Patreon are there any other sites people her recommend for asking for donations or other ways to monetise the channel? I've also added a Paypal.me adress for donations and put up some Amazon affiliate links. None of them have gotten me 1 cent either.

Right patreon doesn't really work , that's why some of them made their own sites and the videos are subscription based but most of those channels got hardcore fan bases who don't mind paying a fee to watch videos also the smart ones moved their followers to different platforms to promote other stuff their doing like merch

Isn't Patroen something like subscription based videos that gets unlocked once a member joins up? Another one is OnlyFans? Or which subscription based video services are you talking about? Which other platforms to promote other stuff like merch?

Yeah patreon didnt work for alot of channels so they start asking for donations. Few of them opened up their own website and charging people to unlock their videos with curse words and other banned stuff from youtube. Platforms like instagram and twitter you can sell merch,shoutouts and stuff and make some money that way. If you keep everything in youtube , unless your pwediepie you can lose a lot of income because youtube updates almost every few months

Slideshows with copyright free music over them are garbage content, in general. You know this deep down.

You didn't even have a voiceover offering some unique commentary about the images? That's really low quality.

Back to the lab man. If you have to rely on copyright free music as a primary piece of your content (think, if you removed the music, the quality would drop dramatically) then you are going to have a hard time getting approved and staying approved.

Also I dont think he is even monetised most of the time he has his merch and his own created games advertised with every video hes so rich he doesnt really need youtube.

I can bet you games that he plays surely gives him the right to use their content. Idk how we ended up where we at today but I can definitely see the need for new platforms to emerge in the coming future. I myself have been semi active with youtube since 2015 just got all in this Christmas. Reached 4m views last month and then first April suggested views (95% of my total views) plummeted down. went from 150k views/day to 10k views/day up to 25k now though. Hoping its just a bug...
I am probably borderline right now so I just started 2 new channels to go 100% legit with and will start 2 more just to diversify the content into 2 other niches
Btw, don't make adsense your only revenue. Make informative content in a specific niche where you can become the authority and help sell products too. More money in that. But adsense is nice if you go past 3-4m views/month.
