No follow link from a DA88 - would you?

I have the opportunity to have a link back to our site from a regional newspaper's site, it's £600 for the article + some boosting on facebook - but the main reason I was looking at going with this service is to try and get some trust to our site from a higher authority site.

I know there will be some click-throughs and a little bit of traffic driven to the site, but would this be a good trust factor for google/ would it impact my SERPS positively?

Yes! it will help your website but £ 600 for just 1 article and boosting on facebook is still damn high there are sites with much higher Da which allows you to submit your website. I would suggest don't buy this service.

Do they have a section relevant to your niche? Do they tag the posts as paid advertising? How much traffic is this site getting?

Either way, I assume that you have considered to get links on other news sites as well and from experience I will say that you can cut the asking price by 30-40%, sometimes even more. Something to keep in mind when looking for new offers.

No not recommended at all instead of that why don’t you buy Wikipedia links from here, and premium guest posts that’ll be better than just one no follow. Or invest more and get links from big sites like Huffpost, Forbes and others.

Definitely no. Nofollow helps with rankings if it's contextual (Relevant to niche) but not as useful as a ******** link.

Not worth it for the link. As a marketing sure, but not as a simple link. You could be buying a great expired domain that would boost your site 100x better than this link would.

Depends on your service you're selling and the potential surge in traffic from buyers from the local area.
£600 is far too much, maybe go back and counter offer them say £200 based on the article being a feature and the Facebook traffic bring good results.

For the seo aspect, a NF is ok for diversity, but not at a tenth of that price.

I would be considering the value of that link based purely on the traffic - direct and social. If you think its going to provide you with a return based on that, go for it. But paying that sort of money for the backlink, definitely not.

yes you will get one time boost. But you should think of way how to capture these boost visitors and make them repeat visitors. that's a more important question

Dont be crazy. Unless you can actually quantify traffic value (which is highly unlikely), you should most definitely look elsewhere to spend your budget.

If your blog/website is for regional level and you want traffic from regional level, then I must say go for it because regional level website will definitely bring traffic which you require.
But if your website is for everybody, this is the worst deal. Don't think twice and reject that deal.

Thanks, am seeing if I can change it to a follow link and what we can knock off the price. Regional news would be beneficial for us as we only sell in one country, so if it worked in this region, then we would look at others too - but again, only if they can all be a follow link

one time boost is worhtless just add original content in free articles site they are better.
