A quick advice. Avoid bots, slow site loading, cheap links, automation, duplicate content, thin contents and sneaky pop ups and irrelevant redirects.

For backlinks though, Mostly when the price is quite high, it is bound to be good. Not always though but mostly.

Avoid cheap and quick services, take time, do them manually.

There are a lot of things which are still working for search engine optimization.
Mainly what is blocked is spamming ways of link building, like dropping your links to other websites which don't have any relation to your websites.
Other spamming ways ads submission if you don't have any product to sell.
Third one can be directory submissions because directories nowadays don't really work for blogging websites.
People generally don't know about this thing, but this is truth that all these are spamming ways of link building and SEO.
The methods still work are guest blogging, genuine commenting, link sharing to high authority websites link Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and others from which it is possibility of getting real time traffic.

if you're trying to hit a bunch of long tail keywords I've personally had good luck with content between 1500-2000 words and quality backlinks. If the keywords are low comp (meaning 0 on ahrefs) then you might not even need links to rank good content within this word range.

Then again, I have posts ranking with zero backlinks between 500-1000 words, so I guess it all depends on your keyword strategy and content plan
