How can I get a high number of backlinks quickly?

Hi BHW -

I am relativity new at doing SEO so your help is appreciated. I have a high quality affiliate/editorial site with decent DA. I am looking at a competition site via SEMrush, and somehow, they exploded from nothing in the last 6 months or so, mainly in Q4 2018. I am looking at their backlink profile, and they have well over 200K backlinks from 3.6K domains. We have about 4K backlinks

I checked some of their back links, and some domains are giving them thousands of links, all DF, and have decent DA. Some of the sites looks like they are just PBN's, but some are decent sties that are giving thousands of links.

My question how can I ramp up a high number of quality backlinks quickly?

We have not used an PBN's because we are concerned of a G hit, and really do not know too much about them. We have been doing link outreach for a while, and we are getting 30 - 40 back quality backlinks per month, but it's a slow and tedious process, as we all know. Should we look at PBNs? Can they do this for us?

Is there something that I am missing that could enable us to get a high number of backlinks quickly?

As you said, you are concerned about a Google hit. If you buy backlinks, you are always taking that risk. The safest links would be links from authority websites like an article on an established website or wikipedia. You are not going to get those links fast or cheap though. If you really care about your website, think "do these links look natural?" when someone offers you them.

Here is what I will do:

1. I will have 60 to 100 nos. quality contents (between 2500 and 3000 words articles) and embed related videos in them (This is dependent on your budget)
   
2. I will schedule the content to go live 2 per day.
   
3. I will build 24 High Authority Web 2.0 links and link them back to my website.
4. I will do some social signal campaigns.
   
5. I will buy 2 good DA domain to use for PBN. I will build out my PBN with original content and then link bank to my website.

What I just listed above will do is that they will give your website good authority and the contents being published on daily basis will make Google robots to camp on your website. Since the contents are of great quality, you will blast your competitors out of water.

But what about the usual backlinks from forums / blogs / social networks ??
