Do archived post affect engagement %?

When engagement rates are calculated using the various online calculators are stats from archived posts included?

I sometimes archive posts which don't perform well but if their stats are included by engagement calculators maybe I should delete instead...?

No, I think it's calculated taking the last 10-20 posts and the engagement for those and the # of posts, # followers. That's a mix, a bit of everything. nobody knows for sure.

I think they take the last 10 days posts or so

I used to delete them, but now i archive them. I believe it's better and more safe.

Archived posts will be hidden and not counted by external tools. And even if you delete a post, IG will still remember the stats. So the only reason to do so is to fool external tools.

Archived keeps insight data. Deletion removes it. Ig knows both ways
