I suggest doing FBA & PL - It takes much more efforts than any other business model but yet its worth it..

May I ask how do you deal with chinese manofactures to be sure that the product is ok to sell in usa or europe, that it has correct certificates and it is not harmfull?

you can hire someone for quality assurance in the middle or get a stock shipped to your address & see to it yourself.. So many ways to do that..

Another question: do you need to register a trademark when private labelling?

I suggest you have it - It matters some of the times!

There have been listings that I created & I got the trademark yet competitors were able to make issues for me.

I don't have good experience with facebook ads.. I think if you get to understand how Amazon works than it has way more potential than any other business model..
