Let's go straight to the point.
I'll divide this to Onpage (Optimizing the GMB itself) and Offpage (Optimizing outside of the GMB).
GMB Onpage Optimizing:
- Add photos - make sure the keyword is in the file name. Also add geotagged photos, using tools like: https://www.geoimgr.com/
- Add posts - Make sure you have some posts on your listing, both long and short, with your keywords inside.
- Add reviews - Make sure you use legit reviews. Google is doing good job "filtering" fake reviews so try to act legit. If you are not outsourcing, post reviews from mobiles that searched for the service and called the GMB recently. Also make sure you're replying to reviews.
- Categories - Make sure your primary and secondary categories are similar to your top competitors.
- Add all the details - Make sure you fill everything possible in the GMB like description, hours, etc. For label use keywords.
GMB Offpage Optimizing:
- Social Fortress - Make sure you build all the social profiles available, or atleast the top ones, with the NAP of the GMB.
- Press Release - Make sure you run a quality press release with your map embeded and with your NAP there.
- Citations - Build a bunch of Citations like Yelp and Bing, but make sure you go for local citations as well. Try to track what citations your competitors are using and get them as well.
- Website - Make sure to get a website connected to your GMB, you can use GMB website builder.
- Links - Just like any normal SEO project, get some links from various sources to your WEBSITE. Make sure those links include the NAP and the business information as well.
- Google Authority Stack - Google loves their own properties, setup a Google Authority Stack linking to your website.
Let me know if you have any questions or you want to add something.
Thanks!
