I assume Malta would be an attractive place for IM'ers to relocate to.
Isn't it a bit small though?
It's crowded too - at least the main island - it's one of the most densely populated countries of the world. 475k locals on ~300 km2, add 1.5 million tourists to that yearly. There are a lot of cars too (300k+), traffic jams, gridlocks are common. There are more cars than that per capita only in Italy and in Luxembourg in Europe. Public transport is pretty shitty, hence the need to own a car. And if it's not enough, the roads are bad, the fifth worst in Europe. Thanks to its location, it's a way station for migrants departing from North Africa.
There are many pros when it comes to the country, the weather, the clean waters, but there are just as many downsides too.
It's a nice place and all, going there on a vacation, anytime. But moving there? Thanks, but no thanks.
Consider Southern Spain maybe, if you want to relocate. Southern France is great too, my sister lives there.
