Rules To Effective Copywriting

Its easy. Plain and Simple. Are you a novice in copywriting? You don't know a bit and really want a glimpse.

Give yourself a pat. I will give you some effective method you can implement in you copy.

Note: I am not an expert but just an intermediate learner and this post in solely for total rookie.

So here are the tips which will save you a lot of time.

1.Join the email list of copywriting gurus. They have pretty good copies. You can learn from them and observe the difference.

2. Take a look at things you have in you home. For example: Books,Television, Mobile ,etc and write the features of them. Try to write it in correct grammar form.

3. Start with a short and intriguing line that reader will love. Make your first line boring and people will ignore your copy.

4. Try to add rythm in your copy. Like using three examples. For example: Apple,banana and grape.

5. Address yourself as a person not a position.

6. Don't sell instead recommend. This mean at end don't say buy now or 50% off. Instead say why not try this now? After all its 50% off and your ...... will .......

7. Pour emotions. Hurt their Past mistakes subtly and project about future

8. Add logical explaination i.e unique features others don't have. Or maybe why its different or how it saves you.. anything logical.

9. Recommend not sell them. But tell them do it right now and why now and why they won't loose anything if they do now.

These are some basics yet very effective copywriting tips. If you want more, you know what to do. After all its for free and you will encourage me to help you with your journey

As someone who does this for a living, I wouldn’t count on copywriting gurus, and I especially wouldn’t want them spamming up my email inbox. But that’s my opinion about all types of gurus in general.

The second point would be too time-consuming for someone who has already started working. That’s just coming from personal experience, once I started writing, I had no time for anything else, let alone practice pieces I wasn’t being paid for. But that’s still good advice for someone who wants to get into this business.

Your third and fourth points are solid advice, and the rest is somewhat mixed. I’d say that the best way to learn copywriting is to observe what everyone else is doing and go by what works for you. If you want to buy something based on the copy, take a minute to understand what it is that sold you on the product. Then try to implement that in your own writing. Sure, having a flashy opening and a good call to action are pretty much requirements at this point. But that doesn’t mean that you have to stick to all of the copywriting rules. Go your own way, surprise your audience, and most importantly — write it the way your client told you to.

I don't understand what you mean by rhythm and examples here. Can you clarify this one?

Anyway, I think it's enough to establish a morning routine. Before I go to sleep, I write down 5 words that I rarely use in English. I either play Typeracer or read a few articles online until I collect all of them. I focus on the type of words that would be good to use in any kind of article, not old-fashioned or overly complicated words. Then, the next morning I use those 5 words as the main keyword to write a 500-word text for practice. This usually takes half an hour.

As Vsauce said when he talked about the Zipf's law in his video (watch The Zipf Mystery on YT), the brain is designed to forget things. As you write an article, you constantly forget words that you don't use. Your brain rather wants to use a smaller set of words over and over again which will eventually turn into a bad writing habit. This is why you should read and write articles about various topics on a daily basis. You can also read a good book if that's your type of thing. The point is to expand your knowledge, refresh those rarely used words in your mind and use them occasionally to keep the connections alive in your brain.

True man ..Very true...From rythm I mean the flow of the copy.. Make readers know the pattern..So that they don't have to consciously read..And then break pattern..You must have noticed it in many copywritings

That's some really wonderful piece of advice. Thank you I'll be keeping this in mind. Hopefully I don't forget this. Haha
