With $500 there would be no roi on signature space selling for the most of us, which would be a huge turn off. Also, I already pay like $30 extra as vat, so no thanks.

$500 for Jr VIP would be a turn off for many members. However, I feel that BHW needs restructuring in threads and memberships.

Threads:
I think the categories and sub-categories should be updated based on views. So, popular categories are easy to find. Adding function to turnoff some threads (if it doesn't already exist) will be helpful to members who don't want to see everything in their feed. This will engage users who feel bored of some threads (for example, some may not like lounge posts and only want to read SEO threads).

Memberships:
The memberships from a normal member's perspective are just free and paid. So, most discussions about memberships talk about Jr VIP (which is major paid category). So, to avoid clutter, BHW should make a middle-ground or advanced memberships or both. This will help filter helpful or knowledgeable members from the crowd. This will also encourage users to provide more value to the community. I suggest the membership structure should be as follows:

Normal members - Newbie, Junior member, Regular member, Senior member, Pro members (Free upgrade)
VIP members - Jr VIP, VIP (All existing features), Pro VIP (Free upgrade)
Premium members - Donators, Marketplace sellers
Moderators - Jr Vice-President, Vice-President, President (Staff members and moderators)

So, basically there are 4 categories (which are already existing but confusing to some extent) and 2 free upgrades. Jr Vice-President will be mods instead of Exec Jr VIP, which will make them distinct. This will also separate Pro members and Pro VIPs from regular members and establish them as authority. There are many people posting valuable threads in their busy schedules, and giving them special recognition could make them feel special.

BHW could even provide Pro memberships (for $50 or something) that feature freebies, giveaways, affiliate offers, provide a single text link as signature and no access to other Jr VIP features. This will also encourage people to try something cheaper before upgrading to Jr VIP.

$500 is way too much. Even the $147 is a lot of money for many people.
For someone like me (a newbie), buying services and looking for information, I really do not know I want to pay the $147 for the current subscription.
Reason: I do not know what I get with the subscription. I know there is a hidden section for JrVip, but I don't know if it worth $147.

If you don't share the same opinion as the OP, that doesn't make him dumb. Chill, take a breather and talk a little nicer to people.

$500 for what? For a blue badge and name?

Since when does the post count say anything about someones knowledge and why should a higher price attract people with more knowledge?

Rich people can be stupid as well. I know enough of them.

I earn 10k/m and also already did 25k/m which is most likely more than most people on BHW I dare to say that 99% on bhw dont make this money. However, my post count or blue badge is certainly not an indicator of my knowledge.

My opinion is... this thread & idea is totally "stupid" (my opinion is no offense but my opinion) and shows that someone has not 100% thought about the fact that post counts & fees do not reflect actual value of the posts or the knowldge of an user.

post counts & fees do not reflect actual value of the posts or the knowldge of an user.

Thats a smackdown, but is actually the harsh truth. I have experienced that in one of my threads recently where a "not so many post count" and "not JrVIp" member @curkill , not only solved my problem, but created a blazing hot thread to teach others how to do it for free.

Marketplace threads, on the other hand, do have a very direct impact on those who take part in the deal, and in turn an impact on the reputation of BHW itself. And in my opinion, making 100 low-content posts should not be the sole qualification for a staff-approved marketplace thread.

Agreed 100%.

I have seen posts requesting to reduce the price but the OP is the first asking to increase. Might be he is rich to afford.. ;)

No, not rich, just opening debate to see if there is a way to improve the quality of services and content. Maybe you have some ideas as to how that could be achieved?

over powered VIP

Or just 'VIP'

I love the idea of basing a level on thanks received, to me you can only get them by being helpful or sharing good ideas with the community.

The reputation button was abused previously, thus removed. If this was re-introduced, the only way to control it is to give it to Mods, Jr Execs, Staff members only.

I think raising yearly cost or post count doesn't matter

What matter is the knowledge

Put members on test before they upgrade besides the $97

You will only see people who qualified to take that place

That would be too prohibitive to manage, and I imagine hugely reduce BHW's profitability as a LOT of folk here would not qualify or even attempt to do so.

Surely Jr VIP is not just about selling your signature. Yes, its a nice benefit as is creating a BST but it is not the reason why you pay your $'s.

I think it is the current membership levels that encourage the wrong attitudes and lower the overall quality.

In my mind, given how most admit that they only pay for Jr VIP to sell services, this would be a better membership structure.
  • Regular - free
  • Marketplace - $97 / 100 post contribution / 60 day registered member
  • Marketplace+ - $499 - no other requirements
  • Jr VIP - $499 / 500 post contribution / 6 months registered member - access to Jr VIP forums and permission to reply in HAF and WTB forums
By extending the Jr VIP 60 day registration period to 6 months, you negate the inflate post count issue somewhat and you provide real tangible benefits to these members with the extra forums and additional ability to sell services.

The existing Premium membership is pointless, as who would have paid the same amount for something of less value. Makes no sense. Personally, I think this should be ditched.

BHW is a business and want as many users to pay for membership upgrades as possible. However, restructuring the memberships could maintain or even increase revenue streams whilst adding more value for members and to the BHW brand.

I think that most people join Jr VIP to sell to others, be it via a BST or HAF and the extra forums are a nice bonus. If you are like me and do not sell services but make money through what you have learnt in the 'regular' forums, then you will undoubtedly make more money from what you learn in the 'Jr VIP' forums.

If you are looking to open a BST or sell via HAF, you know your own capability and what you have to offer, so should be able to make that decision quite easily.

At the moment Jr. VIP is tied to the option to sell services via a BST and respond to the HAF section. At the same time it allows one the possibility of becoming a Jr. Exec VIP and rank even further.

And for me this is where it goes sideways. In my opinion one should really think about where one would like to end up in the “BHW career path.”

Either you are a seller, which could be done via a Jr. Marketplace seller status for 149 per year, or you are the ambitious type that would eventually like to end up with the coveted white username.

For the latter one should be offered the promotion to Jr. Vip with the same requirements as one becomes Jr Exec, but in a dressed down manner, for which the rules and requirements are kept in the dark.

And to be clear: a Jr. Marketplace seller should also be able to respond to the HAF section. That might be the case at the moment, and if so, is illustrative as to why I shouldn’t have the possibility to simply “buy” the dark-blue status.

But what about the Jr. Vips that like to sell services at the same time? Simply have them “stack” their options and have them add a Jr. Market place seller satus.

its not about paying $500.

the question is, DO you really want to be a jr.vip ??

its not about if Jr.Vips are super skilled or not, its about yourself believing they are.

I'm on the same boat as you, I'm not looking to sell anything, yet I was thinking to join just for curiosity and support the forum.
Would that mean I'm a mega expert? absolutely not
Neither will do if I pay 500 bucks and make 500 messages answering the few basic things I can help with.

Jr.vip is what it is, like everything in life it's up to everybody to use their common sense and know where they are putting their money in.

I do agree to increase some fees but not the post count requirement.making 500 posts is very huge.Price can be increased few dollars.

$97 or $500 I don't care, but the 500 posts are going to increase the spam. Sad but true in my opinion.

I like the current requirements personally. Glad I was able to join before the price increase. I don't think it needs to be an exclusive club.

I don't think it would be good for anybody, if anything just make it so you need to be signed up for longer

post count means jack crap, its how you are with people
that sets you apart, prices will go up thats business
those who pay will go on and those who wont
well wont.
