It's been about a year since I started my first Splogging journal on BHW. Pretty sure it was just before I started traveling I vaguely remember it being cold and wet when I was writing the original setup.

I still own a lot of those sites and they churn out a profit. But, since then, I've learned a lot and experimented with other traffic sources. So here we are. Splogging V 2.0 with some big changes and a much bigger scale.

Common Questions/Comments

What is Splogging? - Also known as spam blogging or autoblogging. Call it what you want it's a site posting content automatically.

Duplicate content doesn't rank. - Chuck a stone in a SERP there's duplicate content everywhere in various forms.

You should stick to white hat. - I've seen multiple whitehats go out of business in the last year alone to Google or social sites shifting the goal posts. If this isn't your cup of tea that's fine but it's what I'm doing.

How are you profiting? - Monetization doesn't matter. Get niche traffic and send it to relevant offer. It's really not more complicated than that. Some sites are CPA others are affiliate sales or lead gen.

What software? - Everything is custom build with the exception of BuzzSumo and AHREFs. You could do something similar without my twists using WP-Robot and IFTTT. There are other specific public Splogging tools out there which I don't think any of them are worth your time.

A quick disclaimer: I feel like I'll be giving out enough to motivate anyone else to try this with your own tweaks. But there are elements I won't be giving out the specifics of. It's a journal, not a complete guide on how to compete directly with me.

Changes in V 2.0

First of all the bottleneck. My splog design is not the same generic sites with a few different templates over and over. Between the branding and the copywriting it was time intensive to set up sites. The ROI was good but I don't have the temperament for boring repetitive tasks.

Is should have scaled this up a lot more originally but even though I'd improved the original bottleneck it was still a task I never wanted to do.

The new design is roughly 20 minutes to go into a new niche. And most of that is automated so my actual workload is maybe 10 minutes. If it performs well then it takes maybe an extra hour or so for some custom code at a later stage but by that point it's a proven niche. I can reduce the time further but that's manageable for now. This includes everything from going from niche idea to having a site live.

The biggest change is the inclusion of social traffic. But I'll get into that more in a moment.

I've reduced the costs so the margins can be thinner and I can go at a much bigger scale without as much capital investment. It also handles a lot more content a lot faster now away from the moronic hosting situation I was dealing with before.

The Traffic

Traditionally autoblogs are all about the SEO traffic. There are autoblogs out there making big numbers and crazy traffic with the years and backlinks behind them. I have much younger ones pulling in consistently profitable traffic.

But a couple of things.

I've seen several of the public tools for this kind of thing post misleading numbers. Hit counts are meaningless and even unique visitors are bloated with foreign market traffic.

Non-English speaking SERPs and some niches like physical products are much more lenient with duplicate content. But just posting up content in a competitive niche and waiting for that tier 1 traffic is a rough game.

Your content method plays a major role here and takes a long while to test, especially if you're not also throwing backlinks at it.

SEO will eventually build up for these sites. I know the content will eventually bring in traffic but an SEO journal is as interesting as watching paint dry.

So, partly to speed things up and offset the setup time with some profit and partly because I'm curious to see how well this works, social is going to play a much bigger role this time.

This ties in a bunch of other projects and twists but the basic gist is when the sites posts content it's also going to social media. You can get similar results with IFTTT. The post rate depends on the size of the niche and the network it's posting to but, basically, if the niche exists on the social network it's getting posted there too.

The one part I don't have yet is Facebook groups. It's been a long while since I've done anything with groups and I'll need to build that from scratch. It also means a little extra setup time picking the groups per niche but could be worth it for the traffic.

Some networks will product short term traffic meaning (hopefully) short term profit. Others will take some time to build up but they're still a heck of a lot faster than SEO. This should make it more interesting and will hopefully cover my time in the short term.

The Journal

Most of this is ready to go. We'll track site count, traffic and profit. I'm not getting individual leads and social stats because I'm lazy but if traffic and profit goes up then we're doing something right.

The goal is to make *at least* 7 sites a week. They're not all created equal and the niche will dictate how big they can grow. Initial niche research will need to be done in batches then I'll probably do a couple of sites at a time but as long as I'm averaging 7 a week minimum.

You are buying new domains for all the sites?

A slow start so far. Been having to test a couple of things to help with the scaling but the results are looking promising at least. 3 new sites up and running but I'm hoping to get 4 tomorrow and get an early start on the weeks average.

Will start tracking stats in a couple of days.

You are buying new domains for all the sites?

Bit of a mix of existing and ages but yes, some are on brand new domains.

When you create the sites, you mass create all the posts needed to the site, or you schedule them to post hourly/daily/etc and how many posts per site?

Following this journey! You could use use a advanced spinner or a WordAI spinner or something?
I guess you will run FB Ads like that 2000$ with Adsense thread?

When I create a site the server starts preparing content and it'll drip out, usually over a few months but the post rate depends on the size of the niche.

Not sure which thread you mean but I won't be running FB ads to these sites.

I think you were using subdomain before, right

Nope, most of the sites were .com's before.

Thanks for your reply, few more questions if possible, you use the images, videos, from the sources you fetch the content?
I read you splogging in 2018 thread and got a tool here ( the A one) to start splogging with Adsense , and boom, they now are more strictly accepting blogs, you said "Monetization doesn't matter. Get niche traffic and send it to relevant offer" when you consider a site is worth to monetize and if possible, which networks do you use for monetizing? and last, do you spin all the content before posting it or link and credit the source?

Starting to get through the last of the framework for this. It's a bit of a grind because I'm working on several projects at once but there we go. By the end of the week the traffic growth should be looking a lot healthier.

Only one site setup yesterday. I've a bunch of development work I want to do today but I'll aim to get at least one other site setup.

I've never really tested the difference but conventional wisdom is pages with media rank better. So yeah it uses images and video when possible.

Any network. Or deal directly with the vendor. It literally doesn't matter. I'm not a fan of using Adsense unless it's a niche I can't find an offer for but if you want banners like that there are Adsense alternatives.

MI concern is the copyright, then you use the images and videos from source and don't acknowledge them at all, or you use your own media?

Is it okay if i use subdomain instead of age/new domain?

Up to 5 sites so far. Soon to be 6. I've got two other projects I'm working on and some dev work to do over the weekend. As much as this is way quicker now it's still really boring work to set them up.

A mix of all the above. I can't give away what I do for content because if everyone does the same thing it won't work. Copyright can be an issue, especially with some hosts who are stupidly hair trigger.

Is it okay if i use subdomain instead of age/new domain?

That depends on what you're actually doing. I wouldn't personally.

How much are you earning so far with these? I'm currently using article forge, and holy hell its literally creating content out of context.

Can you PM me what article generator are you using?

So. Good news and bad news.

The good news is I'm seeing some initial traffic on the first batch of sites and I'm making a couple of tweaks which should help speed things up even more. I'm going to have to front load my workload a little. There's maybe 6 hours worth of dev work and then I want to line up a couple of dozen niches so I can sit and grind through the setup.

I'm going to cut back on the social sites for now. Cherry picking a few just to make the project more manageable at the moment while I have other stuff going on. I'll loop back and add the other networks later on.

The bad news is I've not touched is project since the last update. I got caught up in other things and it's been a busy week. I've got about 20 hours to do between now and Sunday and then I'll get back to this.

I'm hoping the changes I'm working on will make this a lot more profitable in the short term as well. Unless anything major comes up I'm going to try to make this my main project for a week or so and at least get the site count to 50.

With the new batch I don't think anything yet. I'd have to check to be sure but hey take some time to build up and I got distracted by other projects.

Hey can you PM me the setup? I've been using IFTTT for most of my auto blogging, but I got banned eventually

Another week and I've not actually got anything done here. I got caught up with other things and the pollution here is driving me a little stir crazy. I'm travelling in the next couple of days but I'm going to try to make the time beforehand count and get caught up on this.

I'm about to grab a coffee and update one of the social sites. Once I'm done with that I have to tidy up my proxy process but by tonight I should be able to start building new sites again. I probably owe about 3 weeks worth so let's call it 21.

I don't think I have 21 niches actually lined up with offers yet but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. Some of the initial sites traffic is growing but, if today's changes work, that should start to really improve over the next two weeks.

Anything I'm sharing will be in this thread, not a PM. If you're getting banned you need to post less, spread it out over more accounts and/or improve your content quality.

Finished the code and started the system preparing a couple of dozen new niches. Redid some of my proxy setup so it's good to go. Takes a couple of hours to fully prep a bigger niche and maybe an hour or so for e smaller ones. It's automated at least and it's build up a backlog so that should stay ahead of me for a while.

Traffic on one of the newer niches is picking up and looking steady which is a good sign. The setup seems to be working so the current goal is just to scale into more sites now with the current social setup and not fiddle with it any more until I at least have 50+ up and running.

That said.

The pollution in Thailand is driving me a little stir crazy at the moment and I'm burning out on work in general. If I get my paperwork sorted I should be moving on in the next couple of days and I might well take a couple of days off entirely.

I get a bit of an issue working on the one project. Part of that is my need for diversity but there's definitely an element of straight up ADD there. I think I've pretty much wrapped up other projects for the moment so I'm looking around for something new to work on alongside this.

I've decided to get my head down and get another 10 or so sites up but I'm not going to worry about the 20 or whatever I'm behind on. I'm aiming to get 10 up by the end of the month and then I'll get back to an average of one a day.

The actual work required really isn't much. But I just can't bring myself to do it at the moment.

Yeah, Chiang Mai this week has consistently been the worst pollution in the World....good luck with this new journey, looking forward to seeing your results....

Problems with the paperwork so I've still been stuck indoors. I've added one or two more sites but finding the motivation is still a struggle. Added two more sites and started prepping a bunch more niches but broke up it getting a start on an IG project and a new sports trading setup. Hopefully, I'll be able to focus on this again this week.

I'm going to make a tweak or two adding a warm-up period to some of the social accounts. Shouldn't take more than an hour or two then I'll get back to scaling. Hopefully.

This morning when I checked the air quality site I used it had skipped right past the red warning and gone straight to purple. So that was great.

Following this thread, also i would like to know how ended your "Splogging in 2018" thread? if you could update it would be great.
