Create your own designs or hire a designer to do it for you. Don't use copyrighted logos/names. Use google to do your research before creating a design.

So for example, think about Medusa. If I'll do my own twist to that, something like putting something in snakes mouth changing the colours etc etc ? Will I get copyrighted just because I used a branded template ?

don't copy a design and paste it , get influence by what designs is working and create something like it , and don't copy famous brand like nike (just do it) or something like that
