Hey,

So I'm a buy, I browse this forum to buy links and other services I need.

The main reason I do this is your mod testing system, compared to other marketplaces I find it helps sort the wheat from the chaff as well as avoid scams and shit services that you find elsewhere on the web.

Today I read the sales copy for a new thread that offered premium instagram names and verification. For a $3k price tag I was intrigued, it's a "rare" service to see offered and the price looked good.

@Sherb raised some points about the seller not being active for 4.5 years and possibly using false/fake information on their website, a little concerning.

He then asked the mod (@Society Girl) about how she reviewed the thread.

For verifications, I've seen before, that if you have the things requested in the OP such as articles etc, getting approved is relatively straight forward. I think the price reflects demand as opposed to effort (could be wrong?) anymore questions, let me know!

For a $3k service, by an account with no credibility, why on earth was this not reviewed? This seems like a risk to members, a risk that could be removed by you guys reviewing it like your rules state.

I don't want to call that mod out but they also give consistently poor reviews such as:

Thread Approved. Cheap and cheerful. Links provided and report was very good.

When compared to reviews by @BassTrackerBoats or @Zwielicht who post much more comprehensive reviews it's really weird to see such contrast.

Thread Approved

Summary
For the review process, @penblock provided a 1200 word article for the review.

Service Highlights

  • Delivery was much quicker than I would have expected given the niche and KW phrase.
  • Research was very good. This was not an easy topic unless you know the niche.
  • Well written content with headers in place.
  • Copycape passed it with flying colors.
Additional Information

I had to do some minor editing for the headers as they were not <h> tags but rather bolded content. Big deal... tool me 45 seconds and it was perfect to post.

Good content, nice seller, timely delivery.

As a guy that spends a fair bit of money every month on the marketplace ($3-6k between me and my marketing team) can I make some suggestions that are useful for buyers:
  • Services are actually reviewed, not reviewing a $3k service from an account with no credibility other than spending $97 on a membership is disappointing to see.
  • A consistent review format, the second review type that BTB and Z use is brilliant. Could you make this the standard?
  • Could mods post samples of what they received? I know posting some service reports like links leave the seller at a risk, but for copy writing a screenshot of a page from the mod review would be so helpful to see if the seller has dropped the standard. About 70% of the content I buy seems to be from non-native people who decided to stick "California" in their location and catfish us.
I don't mean this to be an attack or anything like the sort, but if the new BHW standard is to not review things properly then there 's no real point continuing to buy here if you're like every other marketplace.

Thanks

if its approved by a mod a test must be run in some way.
if the back ground info dug up by sherby doesnt show the seller
in a good light, then best you can do is avoid if you have any
reservations, and wait to see if they will look again.

The mod review implied that they didn't review the $3k service. This is why I brought it up, if they said they reviewed the product I would not have said it.

Read it again, I quoted the mods reply and linked to it in the OP.

There is a definite difference in the quality of reviews provided from one mod to the next. There are ones I would trust and ones that come across as a token gesture at best, hence I need to do a lot more due diligence prior to purchase.

And perhaps that is the point, no matter the initial review, even the good ones, services decline as well as improve, so due diligence is absolutely required. As is REAL reviews from us buyers.

That last point is something I do for every service I buy, so others do not waste their time or money on crap. If you serve me crap, others are going to know, serve me the advertised service and I will rave about it.

I also had a problem where Society Girl approved a marketplace thread, and I have concerns about her approval method. OP was offering free review copies of accounts, I was like the first person and INSTANTLY I could tell the accounts were all mass banned. I PM'd Society Girl, asking how she tested the account, because her review was that the account was working perfectly. She told me to open a shit list thread if I had a problem with a marketplace thread.

She did not seem concerned even a little bit. She did not provide any explanation about how she tested the account. The marketplace OP luckily requested his thread be closed when I notified him, luckily it wasn't a scammer.

Problem is that surely some mods are not experts in the services they are reviewing. Accounts for some websites will be shadowbanned, and only "experts" in that website will know how to test for shadowbans. But, when a Jr VIP member who is professing to be an expert raises concerns about literally every account (or whatever type of product) being banned or scam or whatever the concern, it should be taken seriously in my opinion. A proper shit list thread requires many steps to be taken before it will be approved.

I don't even think I can open a shit list thread from a free review copy, because I didn't lose any money. So, telling me to open a shit list thread is really concerning... In the meantime, other users could be losing money.

2. You must attempt all reasonable forms of resolution before posting a thread in this section. This includes diligently exhausting all forms of contact, waiting for 72 hours at a minimum, and informing the other party of your intention to shitlist them.

That's a concern.

The shit list is there for when people have been scammed, mod reviews are meant to stop bad services which don't deliver from being allowed on the marketplace.

There is no guarantee you get your money back in a shit list.

So if someone did buy the verification that @Society Girl didn't review, they get paid $3k and they can run away off the sunset with a bunch of cash.

The cost for them selling the $3k service is:
  • $100 for Jr VIP
  • $30 for marketplace thread
Assuming it is a scam (there is no proof for this) they make $2,870 in profit. Equally, there has also been no proof they can deliver this service.

You can see why I am concerned with a non-review on a high ticket item @Society Girl, you should be the line of defence here and making sure these services can be delivered.

Saying we can shit list people with no method of really getting money back is not the answer.

That is a fair comment, not an indictment against the system or individuals as no one can know everything, but we buyers rely on BHW Official Reviews to guide us, it is a selling point of BHW.

100% agree. Every user is important, but if there is a hierarchy, which there is, it is surely a benefit of membership to have support provided.

No matter how long the actual review is if it's approved - this means it was tested and the result was good enough to be approved.
BTB and Zwei have own ways to review threads, which is better, but even 'long' reviews do not guarantee you will be happy with the service and you should do own research whether it is good for your needs.

If everything would be perfect there would be no ShitList.

Agreed. The seller could also choose to provide a premium quality service for the mod, and a below par one for a particular user(s).

On topic, I also think that the concerned mod should have reviewed that high priced service. Many are looking for the said service, and this could end up in multiple users losing their money. No matter how straight forward the service may seem.

Yea but same goes for sellers like @SMMnet. He offers a verification service, but I don't believe he had to give a review for that. There must be some exception for expensive services?

I agree though, the rule at least before, was that the seller had to provide the highest package as a review - meaning all of what they could possibly sell. Now that doesn't seem to be the case. I'm not sure when that changed. Would be good to get clarification on that as I can see how this could cause HUGE problems.

Buyers nowadays are smart enough to analyze services before they buy.
I too felt, reviews done by mods vary, but they vary for market place sections and from product to product, also that is one time test. So, even if it will be detailed you can't always take it as the bench mark.
Shitlisting has become a great tools for buyer, they can use it if they want too.

Another thing I've noticed is that there are many approved sales threads that break the rules by having things like "best ....." or "most reliable...." etc in their sales threads. I mean it's just a small thing, but why keep these rules in the first place if they get broken regularly (and obviously not punished and the sales threads still approved).

If you're unsure of any service, wait for the reviews from other trusted members.

Personally, I place a somewhat lower weight on the approval review compared to those that come later, regardless of who writes it or how thorough it is. I don't mean to imply the mods are less thorough, but it's a simple fact of business that handling one straightforward order before the thread goes live will be far easier than handling many orders simultaneously from members who each have unique requirements.

With that being said, I do agree that when completely separate services are offered, the approval review should cover each service individually. Ideally I'd prefer that each unique service has its own thread, as many sellers already do, but at minimum I'd like to see the approval review confirming that all the advertised services can actually be delivered.

I agree with some of the things you say.

But, if I had a thread for each unique service, you would hate it because I would own the entire bumping list with the amount of services I offer. (As well as many others).

This system is important. We need to be able to rely on the fact that the service was tested in a way that would raise red flags if a scammer were opening a marketplace thread.

I know that’s a little vague, things can get through the gates, and that shit happens.

I also know, the mods/service reviewers do a damn good job around here, but everything has kinks. There’s a failure rate even across the longest of timelines.

100% if they didn’t get an account verified during the review process then they shouldn’t have been approved to sell it as a service.

We were one of the biggest for verifying accounts, I think we still rank for a lot of the terms. We’ve done accounts for the Hilton’s, political parties.. even an ex president of a country that was running for re-election. I can tell you first hand it’s got A LOT harder now.. almost to the point of being impossible unless the person is truly credible. We do the odd one now and again, but don’t offer it any longer on our site, it became way too much of a headache from day dreamers that had no business being verified.

Articles, press, a Wikipedia page and so on mean nothing, instagram are wise to this long ago.. they know all of that can be purchased.

There are several sellers who will bump a dozen sales threads in under a minute every three days, but I haven't seen many complaints about that. And since all the threads are within the marketplace forum, clearing them from the 'new posts' list is as simple as marking that subforum as read.

Exactly how I am when I buy something here. It's equity (for better or worse on the part of the seller) that I believe is worth sharing.

I see the offer, they (over)deliver, I rave.

But to the OP, I see your concern & I'm glad you brought that up.
Reviewing Reviews is important to keeping quality assurances (at least as best as possible) in such a high demand market.
Keeping the quality assurance in reviewing mods is also vital to that.
If for nothing else, the mod who left that will better understand what a "good" review by a mod entails from this feedback.

As with always, do due diligence despite whatever a mod says.
If the review doesn't make you comfortable, do more research or abandon ship.
