I have 2 images like 40% of the time - featured image and one in the article. I'm using just a keyword and for ALT I'm using a long tail version.
I don't count my keywords as I write for the user not google, so.

As you can see my earnings are not that high, why is that? Because I'm building a quite large site which ranks slowly, I did put large money in the articles and I'm building links slowly. Yes, 440 referring domains etc are SLOW if you ask me. I'm also building links that are High quality, not cheap PBN's (I'm buying only one diversity package here on BHW, nothing else).
Few TIPS
As the base of my backlinks, I got these Wikipedia links - https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/f...rity-juice-and-traffic-from-wikipedia.979929/
I got together 6 of them in exchange of signature and I can say it's pretty amazing how fast my stats are climbing with these kinds of links.
The thing is with these links you won't rank the hell out of Google, but these are good links if you get a manual review or algo check your site.
So my suggestion would be if you start your site, get a good base of your backlink profile. Get some Wikipedia links, get social shares, check out some other good sources, post on legit forums (don't spam). Also if you have TOP blah blah shit site, add ~2-3 informative posts per 10 top list posts. Then share those informative posts on forums, etc. Write them really good and informative and link from that article to your money articles. This way you will be able to get good backlinks to your top 10 shit site.

Google's AI is shit. All that matters is brand awareness and shitloads of links. Links and good anchor diversity and quality. Right now and 5 years ago Google used the same things to rank sites, Google just made it a little bit harder now, just to keep things hot. If you get that far when you can call your site authority, then you have all doors open, you can spam the shit out of the google, rank the shit out of the Serps and bank the shit out of the millions.
ok, what I meant was - don't overcomplicate things. Don't use 10 SEO plugins (don't use any IMHO) and don't try to please all these fucking ''gurus'. If the Toast or Brian or Steal Patel told something on their stupid blog it does not mean it's true, they have been using the same content and ideas over and over for almost 7-8 years. Hell, you don't even have to listen to me (about Toast and Steal Patel you have tho lol).
Ok, what I mean by that - make Google your bitch by testing things out and building your own knowledge based on your experience, not some gurus blogs and stupid information you can find online.
