I recently disavowed over 500 NOFOLLOW backlinks from a DA 28 site. The site had absolutely nothing to do with my business at all. It was linked from my signature that created a new NF backlink every time I posted there. Now that I removed them, will my ranking improve? Could they be hurt? Thanks for the help everyone!

if the link cause negative result for your site.. when u disavow it , ur site will get a better result for sure

Thank you for the response. But how do I know if those links caused a negative result? Seem like ALOT of NF links for no reason would hurt a lot

u can use ahrefs or moz to check quality of the backlink.. for myself , if the link has more than 20% spam score then its a bad link that can cause negative for my moneysite

Thank you. But what if its just a ton of backlinks like I stated that have nothing to do with my niche and are from my sig in a forum

I did something similliar week ago.. Ever wince then I get 75% less traffic

You need to update your disavow file then... That is scary. For me it has just been a few days
I have disavowed over 150 backlinks. But they were just from 3 domains with shitty metrics. I beleive with in a few weeks or days I will get my rankings back. But I am no expert. I have done this for the first time

i bet you you will lose ranking now. if it is a shitty backlink, google will not count it. it is their way of fighting negative seo.

Disavowed links two times in my life. Rankings dropped each and every time lol. One time my rankings were steady for months. Then I got a top-quality link from authority site and about 10 autoblogs copied the article from the authority site, spun the words, and published it along with a link to my site. I disavowed all of the autoblog crap and even though my rankings were steady for a few months, my rankings dropped after disavowing the links.

I agree with this opinion.

Thanks

People tend to remove random links without even knowing if its really hurting their seo or not.

How long did it take you to recover your rankings? Or did they recover at all?

You think so? I figured 500 NF links from a forum signature that had nothing to do with my niche would be considered a bad link? Should I un disavow it LOL

only use disavow when you web team through google come after you. otherwise, you will lose ranking.
