When you distribute the same article to hundreds of different sites, won't it be seen as duplicate content?
I just don't understand how press release will be effective for someone that do SEO.

There are zero issues with duplicated content as these are distributed in a way that complies with industry standards.

Google knows what a press release is and treats them accordingly.
