OMG I deleted my WP site main user!

Hey guys, im in such a panic.... I just deleted my main user and the site is gone, what can i do to get it back?

1. Do you have backup? Restore it.
2. You can export little part of your local database (with user) to online database.

You should have backups in your cPanel account, though depending on the exact setup you may need to contact the hosting company to initiate the restore.

Hi , my suggestion is to contact your hosting asap as they r able to track this deletion in your database and propably recover some state. This is tip if you would have no backup

HostGator charges $25 per restore if you contact their staff, though you can restore the SQL database directly from cPanel at no charge.

I just called them and their gonna restore it back 8 days ago, which is better then nothing since i had not added or changed anything for 20 days, but lesson learned... don't delete main user ever unless im switching database to another user

I bought the website from flippa couple years ago, and the admin email wouldn't change, ive tried changing it but the email request never comes to my email, anyways i decided to make a admin1 user and delete and transfer the database to my new user so i would have my email fixed and everything was good, for some reason when it asked me what user to send the database to i clicked just delete and deleted everything

In this scenario i would have done the change of email address, user and password directly from the database, that is if your hosting provides phpmyadmin access. And of course, before touching the database i would have done a backup of it to my desktop

yea i know right when i started getting traffic to my site, my site was flat lined for months then i hired some guy to do some SEO for me, he was $140 a month but i figured i would give it a shot or else i would sell the site, then went to check month later i got 7 sales and roughly 100 plus visitors a day, it says 80% was from google search and 20% yahoo... would love to know if my site is ranked on anything

That would be the smart way to do it, Im just not too good with wordpress and learning it as you can see lol ... little mistakes and alot of money wasted for me but I found one way to make some decent money and now working towards making 1k a month with this site hope the SEO and social media investments work.

You learned but still not the correct lesson.
Please take the snapshots of your site daily or at least 3 times in a week. and download them locally or gdrive or any other cloud if you used any.

As many already mentioned in this thread, make sure you take backups on a regular basis. Even if you know a lot about Wordpress, there is always the chance of you unknowingly messing something up.

Just a few months back, one of my software programs deleted the parent directory (where I stored the content of all my sites) and everything under it. If I didn't have backups, well...

Yeah, editing the table entries will work, but I got the feeling that OP is not too comfortable doing that.
