How do I know if a dropshipping niche is crowded / untapped?

Hello

I'm looking for ways to do efficient researches on dropshipping markets.
If possible, I'd like to know whether there are any specific tools or methods to know how trendy or unpopular a specific niche is, how much demand & offer are present in this market, a broad idea on the number of active online stores in there, etc.

I had the gist of idea yesterday about a "niche" I know plenty about to start my dropshipping journey. But I prefer having a clear vision of what I'll engage myself to before getting too enthousiastic about it.

Thanks in advance!

No tools can give you an accurate measure of saturation. All it can give you is the number of sales/number of searches for related keywords.

People give up looking at a huge number of sales thinking that the product is already out there. But you can always add value.

You'll have to test it out by running ads. Ecom is not a free game unlike what 'gurus' tell you on FB groups. Remember, a lot of sales on social media is generated by the novelty/wow factor and not really a need. If you think your product can trigger an emotion, you've gotta test multiple variants on a small scale and once you start generating sales, scale up.

Thanks for the insight Wolf

Do you have a specific site in mind for that kind of searches?

There are a ton of them, thanks to the ever rising dropshipping craze. Just google around and you'll find a lot of them. I don't want to promote any tools for free.

As in AliExpress, you can also check out Amazon Best Sellers to get an idea on products that sell well, which would be a good indicator.

Take this with a grain of salt but Saturation is a good thing most of the time

Amazon has chrome extensions that will crawl the product page you are looking at to give you an accurate representation of how saturated the market is. Try using Amazon Scout.

Look around for trending products on social media, amazon, ebay etc....

Or do in depth research on trends, desires, check reviews, learn about a specific niche you chose. Create angles and then test.

You can check the trend and popularity with google trends. To check the competition, try to search popular products in that niche on Facebook. Pick videos and take a look at them. If you see products that you are going to sell, take a look at those videos, check pages who posted them, check their websites.
