How to truly block GEOs?

I want to block a few GEOS from my wordpress site. I tried a few plugins like iQ Block Country but I'm still getting hits from these countries even when the plugin is activated and configured. Any other recommendations?

Full geo-blocking is a pain in the proverbial butt, since ip addresses get reassigned each month. Also, country blocking on the Application Layer is to resource intensive and creates to much overhead.

My suggestion would be to look for other solutions that don’t create the additional overhead for the server, or at least are a bit more refined. Think ModSecutity, Cloudflare or Incapsula.

The premium version of WordFence offers per country blocking. If your websites are like mine, Turkey is your first country.

Can wordfence be used on the front-end to block them from seeing the entire site or is it for wp-logins?

It really is quite powerful. You can just block logins, brute force attacks or complete access to the site. I use the paid version on my most important sites, and the free version, no per country blocking on my less important sites.
