If this is in the wrong section I apologize. Wasn't too sure where to put it.

There's an inactive username on instagram that has exactly 0 posts and no bio, just a profile pic. I'd like to aquire said username for my business account, but as stated, the account is totally dead. I COULD register a trademark for a few hundred and hope that works, but it would be better if I could get a big IG spender with panel access in here to claim it for me and I could just pay a small fee for it.

Not sure if "Panel"'s are a real thing. The only method I have heard of over the years is to have someone working at Instagram who you have a link with. Even then they have to get requests like this approved with a 50/50 chance, I know a guy but he charges upwards of 1-2k for "OG" names so, it's probably best to try the copyright method first.

Also, for the copyright method. I have successfully done it once, after many many failed attempts. It honestly depends on the person who is reviewing your case.
In my scenario I did not actually own the company, I just pretended like I did, purchased a very similar domain with a different ending EG. .com > .ca and redirected it to the official website. I then emailed them through that domain requesting a name change. The company I did this to actually had real copyright, It took me 1 week but I got it. In total to get one username it took me 2-3 months on off, faking documents. If the name is taken just move on and choose a different name or maybe add a dot or underscore.

Thanks for the info. A couple g is def more than Im willing to spend on it at least for now. I do own the .co and am going to attempt to buy the .com from the owner, tho he has a site on it currently so not sure how that's gonna go. I'll probably try to do the copyright then. Do I have to do this through their form or is there a direct email I can send to?

Click on that link, it will take you to the trademark infringement form. Click I found content that infringes my trademark then when you click on the type of content click whole account. Then simply fill out the form with the info you have. If done correctly they will email you saying that you have to email them with the registered domain as your email. They will also give you a case code. Then they will then talk to you there and you have to provide them with proof of copyright and some other documents.
