February 26th: PBN Apocalypse

Feels like this is a good way for Google to get all of the paid pbns out of the way.
Hit guys who've clearly been linked to a few too many times hard.
They all run for the disavow button and give up all of the domains up that they've bought from, which then shuts down most of the sector.

Clearly if bad pbns ultimately take sites down then anyone can crush the competition with fiverr gigs. Cheaper the better.

Of course, Google didn’t kill mass spam by themselves. Panicked SEOs did it for them by disavowing. Disavow is just a machine learning system that trains about what type of links are bad/low.

1) Release unstable / unsustainable -basic- PBN-targeting algorithm using existing data.

2) Panicked SEO’s disavow all PBN links.

3) Use ML to scan and correlate footprints between all disavowed PBN sites.

4) Add these footprints into Fred.

Without even realize it, you’re also probably training Penguin/Fred to have a better understanding of how to algorithmically determine PBNs.

Disavowing is the single worst thing you can ever do for the longevity of BHSEO... but I get it, you lose a good site and want it back. I’d be very surprised if G lifts the manually penalty of anyone in this thread no matter what you do... but we’ll see.

Hey @patriotnews , thanks for coming back at me, I really appreciate it you sharing your tactics. Sounds like you are going more the whitehat route, investing in content and finding some other traffic sources than search. Would you say that for a competitive niche that makes more sense than investing in a big PBN? I don't mean if it makes more sense because you don't risk getting your links deindexed, I just wonder if it makes more sense from a purely financial point of view, because it's cheaper to get quality links going WH in a competitive niche than paying for a large (and good) PBN.

Because of your questions I wrote this post.

I have personally gone more white hat, but that is because I focus more on traffic stacking than SEO these days. I gave up caring if 287 if 300 pages of my site are ranked #1-3 on first page, and just went out searching for traffic sources.
I get more focused traffic this way, any links I get are being funneled for traffic from sources, and helping me rank.
Ranking on a search engine is secondary for me at this point.

But is that traffic converting as good as organic search traffic ?

I knew I had feelings for you. I know it's love now. <3

I still don't understand why would anyone try to make a pbn site look like a money site when you could actually make it the money site? It seems that many of you have too much time and money to lose...
Think long term...

Long term exactly ... you still need to rank your money sites so you make PBNs that look money sites to avoid deindexation. Add content, link to your money site, rank your money site and make money. You can't just create money sites and expect to rank in tough niches without building links.

We have many clients who have built so good PBN sites that they are making money from their PBN sites.. so yeah, it's worth it.
