How to reduce loading time of videos on loading page

I was wondering how to reduce the loading time of a full width video to stop showing an image underneath before it loads

In general a video shouldn’t take up too much time to load.

A couple of thing to keep in mind:

1. Optimise your video: try to find a good converter to reduce the file size.
2. Don’t use a video that’s longer then 4-5 seconds.
3. If you need to display long videos, use a 3rd party service like YouTube or Vimeo.
4. Try to disable sound to increase the User Experience. Nobody likes to be surprised by an auto-play video with sound (I.e.: NSFW content.)

Let me know what you try to do and maybe I can give you some additional advice. If needed I can convert your video for use on the web, free of charge, depending on the actual content.
