Abnormal increase in the follower number

If a profile with more than 10k follower gain in one day 2000/3000 follower, without posting nothing special, can be normal or it's suspicious ?

One of it's old post went viral, he bought fake followers, he ganged out last night with an Instagram celebrity i don't know it could be anything

Overnight I don't think this is possible, but if he's doing fan method and he has 1000+ warmed up accounts it might be possible. There is one guy in the marketplace that does this thing and I saw in the reviews that he got that it's possible to get such numbers but not overnight. Fake followers, I guess.

Exactly my point. So if he randomly had a news article published about his channel from a legit source, you could expect a spike in followers, but that would inevitably come with a spike in engagement as well.

Nearly 100% of the time you see a spike like that though it's fake followers.

So you are saying if someone receive real followers from a legit source should be a spike in engagement? because real people check the profile/post and add likes ? The problem i can't monitoring the engagement rate of the profile in the various days

Just look at the engagement of the old posts. Check with the new posts and you should see a big difference.

If there is a difference in engagement too they might be real, if there's no difference or there is less engagement, more than probably fake.

i just checked, there isn't any spike in engagement, the only reason could be a promotional post/link somewhere of the profile, instead of a specific post....but that day should be the same a little increase of engagement. I would understand how can i detect fake followers

you have to check the followers profile manually and observe them ( if they seem fake , then he have bought fake followers )
