Just as almost every new TLD on the market .. Nothing new there ..

Renew price/year 1 to 9 years $20.49 per year.
.
I don't like this confusing pricing system. Perfect excuse to charge 8 grand on my credit card.
Yes, during introduction time of a domain they charge a lot of cash, then upon that they as the most new TLD charge extra for some list of premium words, it sucks .. But nothing we can do bout it .. =)
Good point. I was checking ICANN website a few days back and it seems that you can have your own tld if you have enough money to spend. That being said, some of the companies might still want to go for .dev extension; for various reasons. One of those reasons would be domain hack. How about web.dev for a domain, for example? There are literally unlimited TLD's now. I wonder who'd pay this much for a domain name when you can choose thousands of other alternatives. Big companies can just register their own TLD and create endless domains. In fact some companies do it, why would they spend this much on a .dev. Seems like they'll be making these domains cheaper and cheaper. There isn't enough demand to justify it.
