How to Build an Email List

I've been looking around on the site for some good email list tutorials...does anyone have any recommendations for someone who's never built an email list?

Also, how hard would you say would it be to build one consistently to make money? I know success depends on me, but relatively speaking (from other methods to make money online), how hard would you rank it from 1 to 10? XD

a targetted email list is the same as gold for me. They can be very lucrative and can bring loads of cash on auto-pilot. But the issue is not building the list its having and building a traffic source.

Guess it all comes down to that. That's probably my biggest weakness in marketing, always what I fail at, haven't figured out the "what the people are looking for" or "relevancy" secret yet.

with time it comes im still learning and figuring this whole internet marketing thing out. the secret is to never give up if you never quit you will never truly fail

Well, I can tell you one thing. Build a list of buyers not freebie seekers. I had a 15k list once from free SEO tools and I made hardly any money from it.

That’s the fucking thing! You nailed it! I’m totally figuring out how to achieve this!
Any advice on this? I was thinking about curate my list and removing the shitty ones. Having only the ones on the webinar step, asking for their phones to register ....trying to have this the most accurate as possible.

Do anybody have methods or tips for this?

I ended up converting my free service to a paid service and did pretty well until Paypal destroyed my business.

I have actually been thinking of getting into mailing again. But it would be cold b2b as I think I could code a really smart system for this that would run well at scale.

Only thing holding me back at the moment is figuring out what email providers allow cold b2b emails (as this is actually gdpr compliant and legal) and how to stay out of the spam folders at scale.

MailChimp is good but incredibly expensive at scale. So it depends how big the list is going to get. I'd recommend Sendy + AWS. It's cheap and chips

Everything is good as long as you build a niche based email list. There are lots of material on this, some you can find in sites which help you build list itself like constant contact, mailchimp, aweber etc

They should be everyone's tbh.

The average purchases on their 6th interaction, so why would you try selling them on the first email?

The goal is to nurture people based off segements.

For e.x, you wont sell a basketball player a football.

Your brand should have 3-4 sub niches, e.x if you are in the health niche, you will have skin care, holistic health, diet tips

From this, all of your social media marketing will be based on these audiences. You then create lead magnets, e.x a pop up on SPECIFIC pages on your site that are related to those subniches about a free ebook.

This shows that if someone came from your IG account in the skin care niche, they read your skin care blog, their email got captured by your skin care ebook, now you can send then 6 emails and try closing them.


Email 1: Awareness - pain in industry + 10% off on product
Email 2: Awareness - Pain in industry
Email 3: Consideration - Solve problem with ur product
Email 4: Consideration - Solve problem with ur product
Email 5 & 6 - Conversion - Unique offer (25% off)

Then also have an abandoned cart flow.

This will be enough to start off

You need to build a lead magnet landing page where you give the people something in exchange for their email. Create a free ebook or give your clients a gift.
Or you will need to create informative high quality content that people want to subscribe to.
