So i'll start off by saying i've worked with reddit for many, many many years now. I know their ins and out, I know what people like I know how the community works.

I've built up various subreddits overtime, pushed various products & sold the subreddits for a pretty penny.

This time I'm building it all for me and don't plan on selling these. They will be monetized with affiliate links mainly, alongside paid sticky links if I am contacted (very rare for this).

Subreddit #1 - 2 Months Old - 767 Subscribers;

klZEeT2

This subreddit was a trial project - I grew it to 500 subs within 2 weeks and then stopped. Within the past 2 days I have driven another almost 300 subs.

Subreddit #2 - 4 1 Day Old - 1 Subscriber
(note 56 readers because I have already started sending traffic :D)

o2v2s6v

This subreddit is based off an old one I used to own which had around 1,800 subscribers and managed to pull in over $10,000 PASSIVELY over the last 2 years. Sadly - I lost access to the main mod account 2 years ago but the affiliate links are still live & it is still getting traffic. So it's time to rebuild and scale up.

Goals
- 1,000 Subscribers MINIMUM every 30 days per subreddit
- Outsource my growth technique to someone in my team when I refine it properly.
- Before the end of 2019, have a minimum of 10 subreddits with at least 9,000 subscribers each.

Please don't ask me for my exact techniques or niches.
They have taken YEARS of refining. This is for people who want to see the power of Reddit.

good luck OP.

I have a model's one that grows organically using her exact match name. Cross posting to other subreddit have been good.

Definitely monetising in a bit

I saw that one I believe (if you've posted here about it) ! Definitely worth monetizing - there's a ton of potential for NSFW subreddits, it may be something I dive into in the future. Problem is, reddit is like 18-25, tech savvy. So not gonna sign up for any shitty offers.

The key here is providing everyone value so they want to share more within the community.

Definitely, that age group is hard to monetise.

The last time someone did a open case study sold a 100k subreddit for 3k, way too undervalued for the traffic it brings

Takes a lot of effort to moderate a subreddit though & given reddit does take down some subreddits, I wouldn't go all in for safety reasons

Definitely the wrong buyer, or completely wrong niche.

20-50c / reader is entirely do-able given the right buyer.

Found the link, he got 1k for it lol.

Nsfws are a lil harder to monetise, better to be good at reddit and help promote/manage cam girls though.

Better commissions & easier to scale

1k for a 100,000 subs is rather cheap. Doesn't even look like they're doing anything with it anymore! I wonder if they'll sell it back to me for $1,001 :D
Without knowing the frission niche im sure it would be super easy to monetize using a sticky post & some sort of relative product.

My subreddits are very focused & 100k readers will be orders of magnitude harder to reach, but still broad enough that it's achievable given enough time.

Apparently reddit has gotten a bit more strict on certain niches and they even banned a few subs of mine, has anything like that happened to you yet?

Interesting, no none of my subreddits have ever been banned.

Mind sending me a PM with a little more info so I can try avoid doing what you did? :P

Update!

Subreddit #1
Well past my goal of 33 subs per day - in 3 days I have built this sub from 500 to 1,000 subscribers.

760 -> 1,030
MxIE8wP

Subreddit #2 - Day Two.
1 -> 39 Readers.

I need to average 33 readers per day to reach my 1k/month goal.
The hardest part is getting started - and we've made a good start here! Aiming for 100 subscribers by tomorrow!

Around 30 clicks on my links - 1 conversion.

Subreddit #1 - Day Five

1030 -> 1,138
I was working on a much better landing page for this niche so growth was paused.
Landing page finished and will net me AT LEAST $40 per email submit.
Still managed over 33 subs per day woohoo!
BhDR40O

Subreddit #2 Day Five

39 -> 85 Readers
Definitely underperforming on this subreddit. But conversion is crazy high.
Not much content in the subreddit so I believe a ton of people are visiting, and leaving.

Subreddit #3 - Day 1

New Subreddit , similar niche to #2 but different angle.
I think i've nailed the name of this one so it should get a ton of natural upvotes

Have one of my most trusted VA's learning the ropes tomorrow, hopefully all goes well and it's worth it for me economically.
Let's see!

Well I took a loooong weekend off (Friday -> Tuesday) due to a family wedding that was way too much fun :P

Subreddit #1
Day 9

1,138 - 1,150.
Natural engagement on the sub is actually great! Getting around 20 comments on each thread.
I have not done any growing this since day five so thats why there has been little growth.
Tomorrow I will be focusing more on growing it :).

Subreddit #2
85 - > 120 Readers

No growth put into this since 85- all natural. Sub looks kinda abandoned and I need to get some more discussion going on.

8HLKWie

Subreddit #3
17 -> 110 readers
I believe this subreddit is going to take off after a little while. I am also trying to get my hands on a 3 letter subreddit in the same niche which was abandoned awhile back.

XUjZyss

All in all, day 9, 1,380 Subs. Growth is slow and steady but this week will be another killer week

Wow, only just noticed this thread. I love Reddit and this is just what I like to read.
For how much did you sold your subreddits in the past? How many subscribers did they have?

Update!

Subreddit #1
1,150 - > 1,332 Subscribers. This was all natural without any growth done from me.

u8cReUs

Subreddit #2
120- > 125 Readers

Again no growth put into this subreddit. Will be ditching this to focus on other two. Expect no more updates

Subreddit #3
ETIN9ST

110 - > 1,139 readers.
Got a little bored today and decided to promote it a little bit. Went very well, almost 1,000 subscribers in under 3 hours.
(See : 540 online, this was actually almost at 1,000.)

Nice. How did you promote it? Via commenting?
