domain issues, help!

I searched on google for answers but I cant seem to solve the issues, hopefully someone here can help.

So i have a domain for a static landing page and using AWS. For some reason, http://website.com works but how come www.website.com doesn't work? I tried adding a bucket in S3 for www.website.com and redirecting it to http://website.com but that doesn't work. Any simple solution where I can use 'www' ? Thanks!

you need to configure properties from where you bought the domain because this is how world ledger of domains will be updated

hi, i actually spoke to namecheap where I bought the domain and they said "you will need to contact your hosting provider and set up records in order for the domain to work with www."

anybody have any experience with this?

yes the solution is simple. contact your hosting provider and tell to set up domain record www.domainname.com . i guess the type will be AAA and point it to the hosting ip

Contact your host and simply ask them to "Force Https".
Nothing more nothing less, they do it in 2 minutes.

It seems the tech support for AWS cost additional money to contact them since I'm on their free plan. Should I be using a different host instead?

Try setting your .htaccess file to this:

RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www\.
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^(?:www\.)?(.+)$
RewriteRule ^ http://%1%{REQUEST_URI} [NE,L,R=301]

If this still doesn't help, there's likely a misconfiguration elsewhere, in which case you may want to switch to a full-support shared hosting plan.

The WWW redirect has nothing to do with HTTPS.
