I read the article you posted about MySQL vs MariaDB but I don't understand why MariaDB speeds up WordPress.
Could you point out that? What's the reason that the database speeds up the page? I mean, they both do the same SQL tasks, aren't they?

You will not see any performance advantages in short time, but when your webhost is optimized for WordPress ( I am running a dedicated server and for some websites a VPS to handle my WP installations) with all MariaDB installed and optimized by a server techy. I am not too much into this business (optimizing servers) but he did a great job and we saw an improvement of a few ms switching to MariaDB.

How do you reduce CPU usage of Wordpress websites on cloud hosting or generally any hosting?

I am using different services to optimize my WordPress website and reduce CPU usage. I optimized my images, using CDN, used WP Optimize to optimize my databases, using WP Rocket as caching plugin (this plugin actually reduces the required CPU for each new page load a lot (especially if you enable the compression of HTML, CSS and JS). Also deactivating unneeded plugins is a good way to reduce the CPU.

I have checked the website but I have seen this kind of article slideshows earlier (but not for WordPress). To be honest, I cannot find any decent WordPress plugin to achieve the result you're looking for, sorry. Maybe another member is able to give a solution?

No free solution to this, as far as I know. You can use the Gravity Forms plugin with the PayPal add-on (it's in the private storage) to achieve this.

@Festinger i am in a tight corner. i backed up my site using All in one Wp plugin. The backup file is .WPRESS of about 260MB. The problem now is i am moving to a different host and i have tried several times to import the back up but it gets stuck at "importing data base"or "restoring files" . Is there any plugin you know that can help me import this .WPRESS file and restore my site? Thanks

You probably need to contact your new hosting to increase php memory limit / upload max size / one of those limit thing. The plugin itself works fine.

well I have cut down , disable comment , spam now getting less. just that I curious what spam plugin you using but is a nice share here from you.

Sorry, what I mean: I am using CleanTalk especially to prevent spam signups (I do not allow posting comments without a registered account); but if you do like to use a anti-spam plugin to fight spam comments, Akismet would be your best call.

Have you changed the language of your WordPress environment to English?

WPML + locotranslate is by ultimate combination.

You should install a Cloudflare integration to handle these spam visits.

Just like GoDaddy & HostGator (owned by the same company) they stuff way too many customers on a single server so everyone get shafted. That's how they profit.

I was on Siteground for awhile. All of a sudden my CPUs went through the roof. The warned me but I couldn't figure it out what was going on, they couldn't either, I was getting a lot of notifications of lockouts. Siteground wanted me to pay $230 every 3 months. BS. Their support is excellent though.

I was on BlueHost from 2005 to 2008. They did an upgrade of something which messed up all of my sites. 50 sites. 6 gigabytes. They had no backup and I didn't either. They couldn't restore anything. All 50 sites gone.

Was making $6k a month on ticket scalping. Lots of #1's in Google. Taylor Swift was blowing up. Was #1 with "Taylor Swift Tickets." AC/DC toured for the 1st time in awhile. Was #1. I had acdcticket.com, hannahmontanaticket.com, and taylorswiftticket.com not "tickets" just "ticket." Google couldn't figure out any difference. Had content up immediately and kept auto posting and editing and posted fan filmed concert videos from YouTube. I had so many #1s. All gone. Bastards.

I am now on A2hosting and I am loving it. They claim their Turbo package makes WordPress 20x faster. That's a laugh. But it is significantly faster. You have to wait a few for any support tickets. But their support is great.

There are a couple of Google maps plugins for Wordpress that offer pins and detailed information that you can integrate into world maps on your website. But first I kinda need an api key for google maps. You know if you can bypass these api keys?
