Journey to $10,000 a month using Youtube

I'm mainly making this journey for self motivation so that I will feel obligated to do something everyday because I don't want to disappoint any followers of my journey.

I know $10,000 a month may seem like a big goal to some but I do have some experience in making money online. I just got extremely lazy after having some moderate success and now my online earnings have pretty much dwindled down to nothing.

So here's my plan:
-Make a website
This is going to take a while because I'm extremely picky and have bare minimum coding skills so it will take me a while to get the website design exactly how I want it. I am going to be using some very customizable plugins that should make it a lot easier for me though. I should mention that I do have a one page website set up right now (it's where my small income comes from) but the domain is not brand-able and also the design looks worse than the default Wordpress theme so I'm going to trash it and rebuild.

-Create content
My process of "creating" written content is to basically steal other people content and rewrite it. Which if fairly simple once I get in the groove of doing it. I will also be creating "unique" videos by stealing others videos, cutting, editing and remixing them using my subpar video editing skills and adding a professional intro, outro and watermark.

-Promote
I will be using every social media platform and video sharing platform that I can think of but I will be mainly be using Youtube. I feel I have a knack for youtube and since I've been doing it so long, there's no big learning curve to it. Make good content, get traffic. I will describe in more detail the type of videos and content I post once I get to that point.

So that's basically my plan of action. Now it's time to implement.

I will try to post updates once a day. Hopefully this Journey will not only motivate me but help others. I will try to be as detailed as possible.

I doubt it. The way I edit the videos I steal, they are barely recognizable as the original videos. I combine multiple videos together, editing out parts of each video, adding my own music, voiceovers, etc. Basically I'm a chop shop for videos lol I chop up videos and use the parts I want. I understand in the beginning when you're not so popular you may not get copyright strikes but once thinks start picking up people will report you for copyright. Is there no alternative way without copying?

Everyone copies lol It's just about how creative you are in regurgitating the copy.

The videos I'm stealing are copies. They are just uniquely edited.

I'm not just downloading and reuploading. I am making the content mine by editing it in a unique way. I say I'm stealing the videos because the video footage is not mine.

But the answer to your question is YES, there is an alternative way but I'm definitely not doing it lol I am not a film maker lol I am an internet marketer who uses black hat tactics

lol na don't get me wrong I wasn't questioning your ethics (I have owned many movie streaming sites) I'm just trying to understand if this method would cause issues in the long run.

I'm not doing movie streaming though and like I said before I doubt it will cause problems because of the way I edit but we shall see

UPDATE 1:

Nothing to really update. I am working on building my site and since I am new to the themes and plugins I'm using I have to watch tons of tutorials.

What I've done already
-Registered brandable domain
-Created a logo using Photoshop
-Uploaded Astra Theme
-Uploaded Astra Pro, Elementor, and Elementor Pro Plugins


I'm deciding on what custom post type plugin I want to use. I'm leaning towards Pods since it's free but I like Toolset Types and Views ( for the custom search functionality) but unfortunately I don't have the $$ for the Toolset package yet. If anyone has any better suggestions, I'd love to hear them.

I probably won't update again until I have my site completed which shouldn't take me more than a couple days (fingers crossed)

My only suggestion would be: try not to get so hung up on getting your website ready for launch. The earlier you get videos online, generally the better they will do. Having some videos uploaded will help the status of your youtube account (or accounts). You are not going to get traffic right away from the videos. While you are waiting for videos to take off, you can always be improving your site. So many internet marketers spent too long working on their websites and traffic methods died, niches got oversaturated, spam filters got better, or they just lost interest.

What is your strategy - are you going for a high volume, mass upload-and-forget it (and basically getting 30-50 views/month/video on autopilot) or are you focusing on quality, building a proper audience, naturally getting subscribers, etc?

Thanks for the advice. My problem is that my videos will directly influence the viewers to want to visit my website. And I am planning on showing my website in the videos but I may try what you suggested once I figure out a different way to make my videos.

Yes I used Youtube in the past with success promoting my own product. I am planning on making a high quality brand name channel and building a real audience. I may add some subscribers just for aesthetics to help build my channel but I plan on going the natural route mainly.

The crazy thing is I have some old youtube channels still up that have 5K subscribers, 12K subscribers and a few others but I have no idea what the login details are smh. This was when I was mass uploading and didn't keep track of accounts. Oh well, they were in a different niche anyway but sure would be nice to have so I wouldnt have to start from scratch..

I have nothing to really update as I'm still building my site... but since @SocialManager mentioned that I should start creating videos, it has me thinking...

I've been using Cyberlink powerdirector for years now but I can't find any good video templates for it. Would adobe premiere pro or sony vegas be the better option to use as far the learning curve and templates they have?

Also I'm still stuck on which custom types plugin to use. Anyone have any experience with Pods or Toolset Types and Views

Hi so I'm back again with another BORING update. In other words, I still haven't started making money yet.

So what have I been doing?

-Video production:

- Making my video intro. Since I'm going for a more professional and longterm look for my website, I am being very particular in the design of it. I used the logo I created in photoshop but ended up changing the logo some because it didn't match the look of my intro. The sound effects of the intro isn't exactly what I want but I had to move on

- Gathering content (other videos) and borrowing ideas. Basically I've been browsing video sharing sites and finding videos I like. I download entire channels and playlists that I can chop and screw and turn into my own unique videos. I'm practicing using adobe premiere pro but I'm thinking of going back to my trusty Cyberlink just to save time since I don't have to watch tutorials before editing.

- Editing, re-editing, and Rendering. Since I'm so picky, the time it takes me to edit videos is no doubt unnecessarily long. On top of that, rendering for my videos have been EXTREMELY slow. Like I can watch an entire season of a show type of slow..... I have to upgrade my laptop very soon

- Social Media Creation
- Made brand name accounts on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. I'm waiting to get to 100 subscribers on Youtube in order to change the channel name to my brand. I have 93 subscribers so I'm close. The subscribers came from an old channel I had that I was able to recover.

I'm going to setup some type of automatic posting and following system with Twitter and Instagra. With Facebook, I don't really have a plan of action for that yet since I don't use Facebook that often.

I'm still working out how I'm going to monetize this. I think I want to monetize it immediately and I'm either going to content lock my content or sell a membership to my content, or content lock my membership form.... I really don't know.

This is a problem I have. Not making decisions. Not having a solid plan of action. I'm having a hard time figuring out how I want my site to work. Which is frustrating. I have no one to kick ideas off so I'm basically going back and forth with myself on what I'm actually going to do. I'm trying to put myself in the shoes of my site visitor and what would be the most streamlined and visually appeasing way to interact with the site and get what they want. My mind is in a million places...

Just checking in. I know I said I would update this everyday but I don't like to update without any good news. So here I am one month later updating you guys

So I have around 60ish videos uploaded. I have uploaded more but they have been getting removed by haters lol

I decided to monetize by selling an ebook priced at $14.99. I may change the price after I start receiving more traffic to compare what performs better. So far I've made 7 sales in the past week. Totaling 104.93 subtracting Stripe's fees it's about $99. Better than nothing.


Youtube is getting tougher. Some of my videos are stuck at 0 views. I'm uploading the ones the really unique videos to my brand name account and the ones I stole and slightly edited to some aged accounts I had laying around. Both of them are barely getting any views but the older accounts are the main ones stuck at 0.

So now I'm racking my brain trying to figure out how to hide my videos from the haters who keep flagging my videos. Not all of them are taken down yet but I know it's a matter of time. I tried uploading them without tags or keywords in the description but still getting taken down. But I'm going to keep pushing on until I find something that works. It's working so far but not quick enough for me.

UPDATE:

Earnings:

$389.74 from 26 sales. I'm still charging $14.99 for my product.

Youtube Stats:

183 Subscribers: +61 in the past 28 days
22 Videos Uploaded: Only 3 of those videos have over 1K views and they have been uploaded for over a month.

So far I've been averaging around $10 a day. All of the videos I have up so far are in one sub niche so I figure if I do 30 sub niches with at least 20 videos uploaded for each sub niche, I will reach my goal.

I've been collecting the information for my sub niches to add to my site and then I will start the slow painstaking process of creating and uploading 600 videos.

I have a big youtube channel but the audience is very young, its f*cking useless, nobody clicks on anything but videos. I don't barely get followers on insta (which admitely is empty) and facebook and twitter (Which I use to share my videos). Affiliate links and products its not an option. Im an anonymous creator not some charismatic guy that can tell kids to buy their merch as pewdiepie and co do.

Can you exactly explain how you went from nothing to getting sales?

I have an idea to get started within a more adult niche, even if less views, it should pay better, im really sick of the kids niche, its saturated and CPM is extremely low plus you are stuck with adsense basically.

Oh and CAREFUL with stealing content. The new studio beta in YT tells me exactly what % of a video was stolen, they are getting really accurate..

Since you have a kid friendly related website, maybe content lock an ebook with mobile games. Where they have to download certain amount of games before they can get access to whatever you are selling. OR (what I would do) redirect them to a personal website where you have more and better content than what you include in your youtube channel. Kids do have parents so if you're selling something that they would really like, they will go beg their parents to buy it for them. I say it's better to create your own product and sell it then sell someone else's product for a portion of the sale. I wish I could give u better advice but don't know exactly what you are doing. Pretty much, just figure out exactly what your audience wants and give it to them.

Oh and thanks for the heads up about stealing content. I firmly believe that most content is stolen anyway like have you ever seen documentaries or wildlife videos? A lot of them use the same footage, they just have the scenes in a different order with a voiceover. That's technically what I'm doing. I remix the videos I steal to make them more unique. The ones I really don't do anything to, just download them, add intro and outro, go onto other unbranded youtube channels.

I doubt kids want to leave youtube to watch some so called premium content.. its really a limited niche unless you have REAL LIFE people on it or somehow manage to create branding around it (by having an original successful character that people like or something)

As are as documentaries, im sure they bought licenses to use that stock footage, i doubt TV airs stolen content since its regulated.

I just want to cover my ass long term. I know the feel of working hard on something, then having youtube fuck you up because they catch your tricks. I've read horror stories of lossing monetizaction because of using a copyrighted PIC (yes a pic, not even video footage)

The main reason im so cautios is because I dont want to lose my adsense account, which would fuck up my 100% whitehat channel that I worked hard at, so whenver adsense is involved in other projects im scared that I fuck up and they screw up my adsense account.

As far as kids goes, I've put an affiliate link in the past on the header of my channel for g2a games website and I got 0 sales.. it was useless so I got rid of it. Monetizing outside of ads is so damn hard with kids believe me. This is why I would love a more adult audience that has credit cards and actually buys stuff instantly, so you aren't in this window of "kid somehow goes out of youtube, clicks on some link, sees something, tells parents, parents may possible tell him to f*ck off, on the small% of parents that actually buy what the kids want, would buy it on your site and not go to amazon..) it's really freaking difficult getting sales converting. I find it impressive that you are converting this fast even with adults.

I still don't really get you went from 0 to $10 a day so fast with such a little audience in youtube. How are you reaching your clients exactly? Do you pay for ads in FB? how much do you spend?

As far as growing in YT goes, its all about suggested traffic... if YT stops suggesting your videos you just stop growing, happened to me in the past and wanted to drink bleach, i have managed to get a new video viral and constantly suggested so im breathing some air again.
