Building backlinks directly to GMB page?

6 days ago I finished building 230 map embeds on web 2.0's, and so far, and I know that it's early days, but I've seen no effect whatsoever.

Yeah, thats what I did. And did some other things too to rank it. But as it was a service, so I can't explain much about it.

Yeah, i did the same and have done many other things too.

Yes I have done this a lot. I use the Shortened URL on the Maps section. - maps.google.com

We do this for all of our local sites and it works well.

I understand how to do backlinks to website pages, but unsure with GMB

Go to maps

enter the business name

when the business GMB listing appears on the left hand side, click the three lines next to the business name to open the menu.

Click share or embed map

The link to share will be there

You then use that link to build backlinks like a normal link on your website

But instead of building links to your website you build them to the GMB listing on Google maps

Would it be a bad idea to link my shortened map url from my website store footer? The website url has authority and I would use an anchor with my main key in the footer zone of my website.

6 days is nothing, you definitely have to give it longer than that. It usually takes a couple months for me.

Are you guys linking 2.0's to your GMB listing url first, or are you blasting them directly with low quality links? From what I've heard google is so favorable towards their own properties that you can blast virtually anything at their properties (GMB, google plus pages, youtube, etc) and they'll rank well after a while.

I do both Tier 1 and Tier 2. Though I do like the strategy of web 2.0 links to the GMB and then blasting it with T2 links.

the proper way is getting the business map address well advertised in google for that niche.

i don't know what way you lot doing it but that the proper way.

you can also push the niche up in the maps algo with pbn and web 2.0

that the two methods i have read that get good traffic .
