Hello there,

I've been using scrapebox on my mac for a few months now and updated to 2.0.72 about a week or so ago. Ever since the app has crashed atleast 4 times. Each time I got the mesg "unexpected error ..." and option to send report. The most recent one - I got a mesg of a popup that said something about memory violation - accessing a certain memory location - but just had the ok button, but that seemed like was in an endless look as I did ok to get the same dialog again and again .... I had to force quit the app.

Is there a way to go back to a more stable version I believe I was on 2.0.70 or 71 I can't recall.

My mac is on mac os 10.14.2

Thanks for any guidance

Did you make any changes to your mac near that time or install any other software?

If so you can look into reverting that.

Else you really will have to mail support as mac and delphi (what scrapebox is written in) is problematic enough as it is. So its beyond the scope of a forum thread. And by that I mean when an issue happens with windows, its decently cut and dry often times. Mac is a moving target. You can take 10 windows machines and run the same code and 10 windows machines will behave 1 way. You take 10 macs and run the same code and you might get anywhere from 1 to 5 different outcomes, on the back end. So it just takes a higher level of support then anyone can really give on a forum.

Make sure you whitelist @scrapebox.com

They always respond, but if spam filters get it, then thats of course no good.

Im also happy to help with all sorts of things, but mac tech support at that level is just beyond what anyone can do here.

The issue is for windows there is a error handler. It catches the errors, and you could give me the windows error log and I can tell you all sorts of things.

Delphi for mac, there is no error handler out there. Mad Except (what scrapebox uses for windows) is supposed to build a mac version, but they have not.

So there is some logs, but they are less then clear and again its a bit of a moving target. So sometimes it requires scrapebox support to be able to reproduce the error and log the error on there end as it happens to really sort it, that or other things.

Basically I can do a lot with windows, but mac is not yet at that level due to lack of error handling and honestly I have less experience with mac then with windows as well, so theres that. : )

Thanks much Loopline - I have received [email protected] with the license info etc ...

@loopline - given what you have shared would you suggest I move my scrapebox job to a windows box and run this. It crashed 2 more times today and this time silently :( - I didn't even notice - until I went to check on it progress :(

In this case, I would speak with support about it. You wouldn't likely have these issues or any issues on windows and if you did they are much easier to sort. So yes. Plus there are some great features on windows that you can't do on mac, like run an unlimited number of scrapebox instances on the given machine.

Mac architecture won't allow this, but windows will let you run 10 copies or 100 (not a good idea but you "could" ) instances of scrapebox on a machine.

Is there a phone number you could share for scrapebox support - I can't find it on their website and I've sent them 3 messages via the online form but no response :(

There is no phone number. They don't do phone support, they would have to charge a fortune for the software to give phone support.

They always reply, so perhaps its in your spam folder. You can whitelist @scrapebox.com

also if you want you can just mail them direct. Ill message you the email.

Hi Oto! When I try to harvest anything I get a "-1 Could Not load SSL library" error. Have you faced something like this? I am using Mojave. Thanks!

Try the update its working for someone else. The ssl libs were optimized for Monteray but seems they were not backwards compatible with older versions of mac. Seems like its working now.
