I want to transfer about 10gig of files daily between my PC and VPS. When I dragged and dropped 1 file it showed as 25 minutes. Is there any faster way of doing this?

It depends on the download/upload speeds both of your own internet connection and the VPS, respective to transfer direction. Even something really simple like drag and drop should give you max speed.

use google drive it gives you 15 gb for free
or get a edu email account and you will have 4 TB of free space.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I tried G drive and it cut the time in half. Now I'm going to try doing it through uTorrent and see if it's any faster.

If you use g drive are you still going to download

You should compress your files not because you are saving space but because you could reduce the number of files.

It is painful slow to send 10000 files versus 1 big file.

Use dropbox and synce them together.

As above, Dropbox or other sync programs are good.

If you want something faster or more configurable, you could set up an Linux ftp server on the same host as your vps.

You’d have a super fast transfer between vps and ftp server, then you can download from ftp server to your local computer.

If between VPS > PC. Just run a FTP server on the VPS, it's the best way imho.

I always do upload on google drive and download. I have not found faster solution
