Summary: this thread's purpose is to create a BHW community generated list of the best Bulk Mail Sending software (for cold emailing newsletters, promos, spam etc).

Scope & Use of the software: sending bulk cold mails using SMTP (or API) to mailing lists and hit INBOX

Discussion: many of us are looking to do email marketing campaigns using mailing lists obtained from various sources (Opt-ins, Scrapes, Bought lists, etc). Nowadays hitting the INBOX is harder than ever and certain measures have to be taken and implemented in order to optimize the email deliverability. Most of these measures are related to the SMTP & Proper server configs (IP, Domain, SPF, DKIM, etc). I'll call them "Message Infrastructure". Lets assume these are properly set-up either by you or you're using a proper ESP with correct SPF/DKIM/DMARC setups. So you're Message Infrastructure Health is pretty good.

Hypothesis: Okay, lets imagine that now you have a ready to use SMTP that can blast thousands of cold emails an hour. Is that enough to assure high email deliverability? Certainly not. Aside from the SMTP setup, you need to implement certain email sending techniques that lower the possibility that SpamAssassin or other Spam Filters mark your email as SPAM and direct your emails to the SPAM folder or drop you all together. Keep in mind that we're talking about COLD emailing so you're Sender Reputation in relation with the recipient email is non-existent.

Most important measures to avoid Spam Filters (except for SMTP/Message Infrastructure associated factors):

- mailing list quality (low or no bounce, very low or no report as spam events, no spam-traps in your mailing list) *this can be achieved by cleaning your mailing list using Email Validators and constantly purging your list for hard bouncing mails, unsubscribes and spam reports.

- message content (including attachments, URLs, message text, and headers) *here is where sending software can help increase email deliverability*

- sending patterns (volumes per batch, volumes / period of time (second, day, month), schedule consistency, etc) *here is where sending software can help increase email deliverability*

From my experience message content and sending patterns are two of the most overlooked factors when it comes to email deliverability. Most of us concentrate on the ESP related factors but SpamFilters are nowadays looking a lot at message content and behavior of the sender. Sending identical cold emails at a high second/hourly rate it's gonna land you in SPAM or total DROP fast. Since most of the mailing lists contain predominantly Google, Hotmail and Yahoo emails, these mail services SpamFilters are very aware of what you're doing and are very efficient in assessing your activity (and catalogue you as a spammer fast).

My conclusion for increasing email deliverability for COLD emailing
:

*message content* - sending non-identical (subject, text, links, text/image ratios) emails (spin-text features)
*sending patterns* - having a "natural" emailing pattern (avoiding high peak emailing periods, temporize volumes based on periods of time) (advanced scheduling features)

So which email sending softwares are you guys using that have spin-text features and tweakable scheduling features?

Mailwizz -> Content rotation

As an expert email marketer lemme say you are on the right track and you are 100% correct ;)

Thanks a lot, you're a life saver. That's exactly what I was looking for. Didn't even know it existed. Thanks again.

its all about ip reputation and domain .. SPF and RDNS ..

Even without dead links you can hit spam pretty easy. Spam filters are very advanced nowadays and sometimes you can't really know why you've landed in the spam folder. For example Gmail often marks my emails as spam and mentions the following on the message top:

Why is this message in Spam? It's similar to messages that have been detected by our spam filters.

When this happens it seems that domain, IP and other email delivery infrastructure details are not the issue since I've tried with new smtp with api, new domain, new everything and getting the same problem. It's more to do with the mail content and certain keywords.

1- There is a way to track where your email lands through whole campaign, By using seed gmail accounts in your list every 1-10k emails add one email of yours and track it. I also made a script to access these emails and report where my email landed.

2- This message means your content contains something used a lot. To avoid this you gonna need to keep changing and testing different parts of your content to know which part or line make the email go to spam by sending each part to a NEW email you never sent to before. Also remember subjects, image links, links all can get marked as spam. So the issue might be in a image not the text.

Not really. Get all that done and one dead link in your content can make you reach spam folder still O.O

try it for yourself .. even the link is blacklisted from the old FROM ADRESS.. just change the domain and ip .. it will inbox
