Get customers by cold email?

So basically you cold called in the beginning to build the client base and now you mostly doing warm calls and referrals?

Exact, period. Right now my local potential is maxed, so I plan to prospect a new city this week. The problem with SEO is that people can takes months before they take action, so I must not keep waiting, or I'll starve. The bigger the network, the easier it is to pick up the phone and be confident to do a sale in 3-4 hours. In my debut I could make calls for 50 hours and get 2-3 "I'll think about it".

The key is to call a prospect 2-3 times over a year, so you're not a stranger anymore. He know your name and that you gave value each time.

Hi guys!

after the advice that you gave me I decided to improve my emails, I would like to know what you think (The email is in spanish so it can be a little different):

Hi doctor XXX!

I could see that the XXX Odontology facebook page has more than 500 followers, and you update it often, it's doing a great job!

But it does not have a 100% web page for XXX. Every day more people use Google for everything. And that's what happens when they want to find a dentist in the city. In the image below you can see the number of people who do it per month:

https://imgur.com/a/bFHIBte

In total there are more than 2100 monthly searches! That is why having a web page that looks with a modern design, is quick and adapts to different screens, it is very important, we want your potential customers who search on Google, enter your website and feel confident to call by phone or go to the address EMECE Dentistry.

A few weeks ago develop the website of a dental center located in La Plata: https://page, you can see that the page looks very professional, and already has dozens of visits per month (only has 2 months).

I would like to create your web page, if you send me your phone number and a free time for a 10 minute call I can tell you more about designs, price and other questions you may have or even ask me here. My name is XXX (my portfolio: https://portafolio) and I hope you have a good start to the week!

What do you think? I think it has improved a lot, the problem I find is that the e-mail is a bit long but was previously too short and did not say much.

I think it's a bit too long. Don't forget it's an email : people read in diagonal.

It's a good email and you inspire me to try direct email marketing with that kind of approach, but I'm pretty sure you could say the same thing with less than 2/3 the words.

I definitely respect the hustle, but this sounds like an unnecessarily hard way of doing it.

I mass send 400 emails/day and spend the day replying and calling those who engage.

Generally it’s an average of 18 prospects who explicitly say they’re interested/day. These are very warm leads essentially who convert quite well. This process leads to a few clients/day @$1200 each upfront and $4.5 over 2 years on average. Maybe:

1. Switch up your approach to email for identifying those interested before calling. To do this, especially use a subject line that straight up asks if they’re interested in your service so that you can cold call everyone who opens the email.

2. Consider switching products, as a truly differentiated high value product in a lucrative niche will convert anyone established, educated, and who listens. Good products are a dime a dozen if you really take a few months to research the best concept before taking full-time action. Almost no one does this...

3. Specialize in one vertical like dentists, restaurants, startups, etc to make yourself stand way out.

4. Focus on targeting using proprietary data, as this is where it’s won competitively.

Great stuff! What do you use to send out the 400 emails a day? One domain can send around 100 cold emails a day pretty safe?

I'm not being harsh, I'm trying to help :

Hi Diego Ferrari, my name is Nicolás Melian, I'm a web designer and developer.
By saying this, you lost half the interest before they even open the email, they can see that from the preview.

I found the website of your clinic looking for a dentist in Buenos Aires. Also I saw that you have more than 600 followers on Facebook. You are doing a great job.
Don't lick his ass, he doesn't need his ego boosted. He needs people he can trust and work with. And if he needs his ego boosted (maybe its cultural over there), he wants it to be about dentistry, not facebook followers. He is not a social media guy.

Although I do believe that the design of the website could be improved, that it is somewhat outdated and does not look good on mobile phones.
Talking shit about people's business doesn't make them notice a "pain point", it just make them not like you.

People spend hours with their cell phone, use it for everything and when they want a dentist they usually look for it in Google
He already knows that, and if he doesn't then he's not your customer.

I would like to help you with this! If you want to see my work I leave my portfolio: https://nicomelian.com.
What you're doing here is you're putting the burden of the sale on the other person. You want him to do the work for you. He has to listen to you, check your portfolio, guess your prices, come up with ideas. When I get emails like this, even if I need the service, I don't respond. It just add works to my plate and ain't nobody got time for that.
Instead of trying to make him do the work for you, which shows you're not confident. Do the work for him. That means offer a real solution, a price bracket, a timeframe, and a reason why. Then you remove all the annoyance from dealing with you and it makes it super easy. For example :

Good evening Mr. Ferrari,

I couldn't visit your clinic when I was in Buenos Aires, so I'm contacting you here. (the preview will show that, they will open it)
I specialise in designing and launching websites for the top dentists from buenos aires to whatever other town you worked with. I heard from a client you're one of the top dental surgeons in buenos aires, and so I thought we'd be a good match. (ego boost, just like you like)
I actually already have an idea of a website in mind, modern look with an integrated booking system. That will make everything much simpler for your clients. It shouldn't take more than a week to launch and around $1000.
I wanted to send you more details, would it be better via email or via LinkedIn ?

<- so now you showed you're confident, that you work with the best, you boosted his ego in a way that he cares (about being a dentist), it sounds natural, its short, and you are not making him guess anything.
I wrote this in one go so don't hesitate to edit whatever. I hope it helps

One domain can send 200/day safely IF you work your way up adding no more than 12 emails/day for an established address on a clean domain. You have to stay consistent to avoid the spam filter. You can’t send 200 one day then 40 the next etc.

Secondly, to avoid deliverability issues, you need to leverage data to pick seriously qualified prospects with a pitch that really adds value to them. Then they don’t flag and actually open the emails and engage.

Think those hard approaches that involve doing a bunch of research on one prospect and then manually typing up an email for them individually that converts relatively well. What I’ve has success with is doing the same thing but in a way where you can leverage data to automate the customization.

This usually will require a significant time investment and skills in scraping, coding, and data utilization, but it will pay off because it can convert the same way but also you can mass send without issues.

Try making a bunch of the customized emails. When you learn something that works and really discover a pattern, think about what aspects were really customized. What data could you scrape/buy to automate this customization?

When you can seriously answer that question and can prove it, now you have something you can build a business around.

Actually, cold emails will not be really effective. Try to use some modern marketing methods. Maybe it's time to work with your own website.

Cold email is the most profitable method ever because you can choose who you contact. With good data, it works better that lead generation because you can literally select the people in all the world who need your service the most. In a serious niche, even with the internet, the majority of recipients won’t even realize their need or that your service exists.

Mass blasting a whole vertical based on data from purchased lists to sell a commodity is not cold email. You have to message people who really benefit from your unique service.

If you do this, it works just as well as regular email. Recipients are thankful you messaged them. Half the people who open the message will respond interested. This comes from genuinely good data and actual expertise in satisfying a need.

99.9% of cold emailers don’t do this. Just check your inbox haha. But that does not mean it does not add massive value when done right.

That makes sense. I think, I will have to try it, thanks.
