[Question] Instagram experts about my account management plan

Hello colleagues,

I am into an account management deal with a client which circumstances are:

2 years old account (business)
Popular well known product.
100+ posts (quality ones: hired professional photographers for on location and product shot images).
a bit over 800 followers - a bit over 400 followings

WORST IG ACCOUNT PERFORMANCE I'VE EVER SEEN!

This is my plan (client doesn't wants to spend on photography anymore):

1. Download all posted images.
2. Delete almost all posted images.
3. Start all over again using the same posts + well done account management.

Would you say this will work in IG eyes or account could be penalized?

How about taking the very last picture of the feed, deleting it and then reposting it so it becomes the latest picture on the feed. This way the account doesn't look super empty and you can repurpose it.
At least that's what I'd try for the start.

Optimize Hashtags and captions, then start growing that thing. What's your plan for fast growth?

I suggest you use the right hashtag, for this you can try the tool on this section. Try f/u on your competitors and find that with high follow back rate.

Once more you spammers, OP doesn't need advice, he wants to know if he will or will not be penalised by Instagram.

I do that in an acc I have to post photos I take. Instead of deleting I prefer archive the oldest and re-upload them gradually.

If you mix my answer with the one of the guy that said you should change md5, you wouldn't be doing anything rare to Instagram, just archiving photos and posting new ones.

A guess what you say should work, but...
800 followers is almost equal to NOthing. I don't even care about those.
I can grow that much in no more than a week while we are talking about an account 2 Years old.
The account is just sitting there doing NOthing while its contents are professional grade.
That's why I want to reuse them. I need to as client doesn't wants to spend in it further due the poor results.

Finally.

Seriously though, I misunderstood your post. Sorry about that.

I'd go ahead and get rid of the current content, change md5 hash and alternate the pictures a bit and reupload them.
People are having trouble with 1:1 reposts, that's why I'd take extra care to modify the old pictures so the account doesn't raise a red flag.
