Hi,

I need a backlink monitor/manager where I can important my backlinks and get a notification or something whenever someone removes my links or changes them from ******** to nofollow.

Do you guys have any recommendations? Any input is appreciated.

Cheers

Google search console and ahrefs seems best options.
if you need a custom bot, you can ask for it in the marketplace. I'ts not that hard to make a bot for that.
I might make one for free (right now I don't have time for it)

I have ahrefs and yes, you can work with it, but it takes time. I wanted something where I can add the sites/pages where I bought a link, add my websites (for which I bought the links), and the software to let me know when something changes like - domain XXX doesn't have anymore a link to your site YYY.

I know I can get a bot done for it but I will rather pay a monthly/yearly subscription to a software that was already tested, has a team to do updates etc etc. A real software with a real team behind it.

You can try linkchecker.pro for this or maybe statuscake.com (but it's more for checking your sites uptime).

Don't know who/what Tibor is. If you care to give more info, that would be great.

After some research, I found a good option from a user here in BHW with username tiiberius

go to his profile, go to Postings and search thru his seller threads. you will find it. don't want to share it here because I don't know if it's ok to "promotion" and stuff.

Well I already told you I can not find it in his profile, and you are telling me to search in his profile... 4 real ... PM me please.

You’re looking for a backlink monitoring tool, here are the best options:

  • Ahrefs – lets you import your backlinks list and sends alerts when links are lost or changed to no follow.
  • Monitor Backlinks – designed specifically for this, with notifications when links are removed/changed.
  • Linkody – affordable option, monitors status, ********/nofollow changes, and sends email alerts.
  • SEO SpyGlass (by SEO PowerSuite) – desktop tool, lets you import and track backlinks with alerts.

Lots of great suggestions here already! One thing to keep in mind: no tool (whether Ahrefs, Linkody, or a custom bot) will give you a 100% accurate picture of your backlinks. Why? Because every crawler gets blocked differently. Some sites cloak for Ahrefs but not SEMrush, others block Googlebot but not lesser-known monitors.

For example:
  • Ahrefs/Majestic might miss links on sites that aggressively throttle their crawlers.
  • Google Search Console only shows links Google chooses to report (and even those can lag).
  • Smaller tools like Linkchecker.pro or Linkwatcher.io may spot niche opportunities but lack the crawl depth of bigger players.
My approach? Combine 2..3 tools (e.g., Ahrefs + a dedicated monitor like Linkody) and manually spot-check critical links occasionally. It’s not perfect, but it’s the closest you’ll get to ‘complete’ backlink visibility.

Also, if a link disappears from all tools, it’s likely truly gone - but if one tool misses it, the site might just be picky with bots!
