Firstly, I just fail my chance to join a growth hacking team for a start-up company. I'm really upset because even I do with my best, I still can't solve an interview question? This is a simple question but the thing is you have to "think out of the box" (I still not understand what his "out of the box" was, I did try so many marketing tactics). So now, Anyone could solve that question?

The question is You have to find 50 candidates who could speak well-enough Chinese to communicate with Chinese and sell some technology products. You have 10 days and 500 dollars on budget.

The important thing is you have to have a creative solution for this case. Okay! Does anyone like to solve this question?

50 different chinese restaurants, eat 5 meals a day at 10$, convince a waiter.

I like this idea, but as an engineer, we don't like cutting it close. This would assume you have perfect success rate. I prefer to ensure room for failure. Let's double it to ten meals a day and have it to where you are grabbing a small bite to eat or a dessert at $5. This would leave some room for error.

Really? Creative or not - I'd advertise on Baidu

Cost per click on Baidu is incredibly cheap. Reach in China is similar to the numbers you get on Adwords for Google.com for EU and USA combined.

For example. I'm currently advertising tool making (stainless steel dies for uPVC extrusion)

13 cents average CPC in USA
0.28 Yuan in China which is about 3 cents per click

So spend some money on a hosted landing page. One the Chinese are happy with and that is visible behind their internet wall. Last time I tried "Unbounce" worked just fine.
Get a translator for your copy from Elancer or even Fiverr (500 words for $50 should be possible easily)

Set the page up
Set the adverts up

Run

You should get change out of your budget.

is this in the US? Go to any college in California (tons of chinese here) participate in a job fair or just recurit on campus. Keep the change.
