I've recently conducted a little "experiment" of mine that I'd like to share with you.

I have a friend who's 21 like me but was struggling with money so he decided to start looking for a job. He knows I'm into IM and has actually showed interest a couple times in what I do, but nothing too serious.

One morning it came up to my mind to try and to spoonfeed him a method.

I have my own method that doesn't earn a lot, but it's steady and takes time. I still do it from time to time when I need some small buck.

The thing is that in my country the standard is different and the usual 9-5 job for a no skill 21 year old student would earn him $500 a month. The method I was going to share with him could earn him approximately $20 per day if he stood in front of the computer for 8 hours straight (the exact same amount of time he would spend if he was to find a job).

And after all - he wouldn't share the method with anyone and he wouldn't be able to saturate it - so I was on the safe side.

I shared my thoughts with him and he gladly accepted. I was more than happy to help a childhood friend.

I grabbed my laptop, went to their house, explained and showed him everything in details. Step-by-step. What, why, how and when.

I even made him do it in front of me. And he did it.

He thanked me, I went home. I saw him down the street a few weeks later and asked him how it was going? He told me he couldn't keep himself motivated and disciplined to work. Everytime he'd turn the PC on, he'd play League of Legends.

And obviously -.... he told me he ended up with a job as a sales assistant in a retail store.

Lol think that's the problem. Motivation if you can't motivate yourself then even being spoonfed won't work. Think trial and error builds a hunger and keeps you going I've just started getting into affiliate marketing. Read a lot on here and set my first landing page up made a ton of mistakes already and page looks crap but that is motivating me to improve to read more on here (pretty much everything you need to know can be found somewhere on bhw) spend most the day at my day job thinking of ways to impovimthe site back links SEO content ect and have written a book with all my ideas so my next project will hopefully be better but you learn more from failure than success

You need to have initiative/show interest in order to be successful. If a trader gives away all his stock trading secrets to a painter or a construction worker, chances are they won't put the advice into practice.

Your friend will most likely put the methods in practice from the things he is interested about.

Yes, and no.

Stock trading requires advanced skills.

The method I shared required following basic steps - A, then B, then C. He follows instructions at his job now too.

It's not the computer as well - the guy is a gamer, spends hours playing video games.

Better get ready for the thousand PMs you are about to receive asking for your method. Though who knows, maybe that is exactly what you want ;)

I heard someone say something very interesting... He was talking about coaching and said that he let his friends/family attend his $25,000 master classes. None of them have made any money from his teachings. He said that the people who give a shit, were the ones who put the money down. They're paying for knowledge that they give a shit about.

I have had noticed exactly this as well, with things ranging from teaching people how to use torrents to learning people how to use a plex server to teaching people how to cook. You can provide the spark as often or as intense as you can but as long as the will it will never amount to anything.

Forget about skills, my example wasn't about skills. It was about personalities.

Your friend may like to play videogames but that doesn't mean he's interested in using his computer to make money. Believe it or not, many people do prefer all the stability that comes from being given orders and have a remuneration for it (do X, we pay you Y)

It's a no brainer for you and many others like me, just as trading is for many people, but that doesn't mean it's the same way for everybody.

Nah, I'm not willing to share my method for the moment and any PMs in regards to it will be ignored.

Everyday I get happier that I always had an interest in computers.

As a kid I always was playing my Gameboy (according to mom)

And I made my own bot for RuneScape back in middle school, then made a simple HTML website where I would upload flash games for my friends to play at school.

It makes sense now though. Like someone above said not everyone can sit infront a computer.

I had many friends who were developers and asked me over and over again how to start doing something and earn money. Refered them hundred of times to bhw and no person got deeper than making a blog with a few posts. Actually also only 2 people from 50 who asked me did something at all. People are like "Whoa, you earn good money and don't need to work all day? I also want that, how you do this" - I tell them and nothing happens. People are lazy fucks and are scared of new things.

Now to the topic.
I actually started with internet marketing about the time when I created my account on bhw and it took many years to earn good money. From my experience, the danger of spoonfeeding is the tunnel vision you get by focusing on one strict method. Spoonfeeding noobs will lead to nothing because they lack everything else for IM.

IM is not complicated at all, you just need to develop a feeling for it. A martial artists trains years and even if he showes you how to do it - you would still need years to get even close to him. You need the experience, the knowledge of what exists and is possible and sometimes when you are working on a method it makes "blinnnggg" in your brain and you are like "what the fuck, this was so obvious, how did I not see that". Than you start to bank. But without trying out and digging around you will not develop the necessary creativity fot that. Every pure spoonfed method takes more from you than it gives.

I've got big respect for all people who are in this bussiness for more than a decade, I would also love to make money with the blink of an eye :D

Coming to the conclusion that "Spoon feeding does not work" on the basis of one instance may not be right.

It depends on the person being "spoon fed" too.

May be your friend was not able and capable enough to implement your teaching.

As they say in statistics sample size matters. So too small a sample size to draw any conclusion.

I have had this problem with multiple IRL mates that i want onboard so we could end up making a company. But they all are wasting their time playing games. Or getting a regular job. I guess you have to be a lone wolf when doing IM cause people are really lazy.

I have one friend whos a mortgage lender so I can relate a bit with her.

But yeah better to be lone wolf, just me and my computer. And BHW

Its not just IM its about everything in life, you cant help people if they dont want to help themselves. I have tried to help many people in my life, but they dont listen, so i quit doing that, simple. Those who really want something will find the way.

That shows that not everybody has the same objectives.
Maybe he preferred to get a 9-5 job without squeezing his brain rather than using it to earn money for himself.

To be fair, society doesn't really teach self-sufficiency and self-motivation.

From pre-school through college, students are under the control of a hard-handed boss. Questioning is frowned on, experimentation brings discipline, and the only "responsibilities" are to complete seemingly arbitrary tasks that bring no direct benefit. And in many cases, the same attitude prevails in one's home life as well.

Almost all forms of self-employment require a leadership mentality, but people feel safe with the follower mentality they've been force-fed their whole lives. And thanks to the common myth of 'born leader', everyone who is not born as a leader is predestined to live out their life as a follower.

MLMs exploit this by taking on the leadership role themselves, while simultaneously giving the illusion of self-employment. The self-proclaimed mentors exploit it in the same way, they place themselves as the leader for others to follow, while never giving enough meaningful motivation for their clients to truly break free into self-sufficiency.

Breaking out of that follower mentality is incredibly hard, but it's absolutely required to succeed in any business. Unfortunately, getting to that point requires more than empty platitudes, or self-help books, or 'all billionaires follow this schedule', it requires deep self-reflection and a willingness to act on what you see.

Lots of good points made here. IM / unsupervised work is not for most people.
I tried to "spoonfeed" friends long ago. They all give up very fast! Even with a-b-c steps like you said. Now I just link them to BHW & save my breath. How many get serious about it? None. It's too bad, but it's their choice.
For your friend, why not play league of legend matches window-mode or another game between whatever the IM task is. Instead they resort to working in retail hell for fixed wage and plenty of rules. Glad we are on BHW making our own way forward with no limits.

in my country (morocco :third party country) when people in my street see me stying at home without doing any job and having car also spending money here and there they say how you get this money i say i have jnone  (jnone : devils) working for me i order them to take money from bad people and get it to me ,i will never told them about what i m doing.
some kids they are near to believe about this devil story lol :D
