Amazon and ecommerce potential product? Need advice

Hello so I found a product on alibaba which is currently selling only one listing on amazon for £22 (with no reviews) and wholesale price is $4 I was thinking putting a custom logo on the product.

the actual domain of the product is available so i was thinking take the domain and start a ecommerce wbesite selling the product and and also putting it on amazon as a private label but cheaper than the other one i found and get some reviews?

Would this work do you think?

Course it can work, but it depends if there is any demand for the product!

If it has no reviews then is anyone actually buying it? If you spend a grand a more private labeling it plus building a website to not sell any product, was it worth it?

That can work, but it will be harder to make sales on your own domain compared to Amazon. Since you will need to have some social proof behind your new store compared to the Amazon social proof has.

Best idea is to stick to Amazon and make sure that it's a great product, that it's in demand.

Hire someone to take some really high-quality pictures and get a good description etc.

There is plenty of ways to get "fake" reviews that will boost your listing a lot.

But you gotta make sure that there is a demand for it and the already existing product is selling even when it has no reviews.

Getting your product fully setup on FBA costs A LOT of money and is not something that you just go overnight.

I still down about $2500 from my investment in something similar on FBA.
