Hello BHW.

I've starting moving forward my objective, I've been inspired by the very famous no more zero days post on reddit.

I would like to create a product on the technology niche. But It's becoming difficult for me to do a proper market research.

Any ideas on which free tools to use to perform a reliable market research? (other than the google tools).

my main focus will be customer demand and I will be particularly interested in two things:

Barriers to entry

and

market competition.

I would be aiming at markets with high entry barriers and lower competition.

Did you already try Google keyword tool for customer demand (keyword volume) , and competition.

Barriers to entry, do you mean the reasons why customers aren't buying the product/service ?

In my experience there's no tool for that except good old fashioned investigation.

Look at comments made by the consumers in forums, look at negative reviews posted on competing products. That will show what their pain points are that aren't being solved. Also find consumers you can interview and prep your questions

I will try the google tool.

with Barriers to entry I mean: Who hard it is to enter on that particular business.

For example creating a blog about travel is very easy -- expect a lot of competition

Creating a well maintained cryptocurrency exchange might be more difficult at the beginning but you might have less competitions.

These are just examples and guesses on side.

I just realize how much there is still to learn!
