Are you allowed to drop N bombs here?

I read an old thread and saw a guy use the N word.

This is a highly offensive and oppressive term, so I reported it.

This is the response:

So if a member breaks the rules 9 years ago, that's fine? Or are you allowed to say "Nigger" on this forum?

Out of interest I did a search for this word and found 3 pages.

Clarification on this would be great because if this is allowed please just delete my account. I don't want to be here if it's ok to drop that word.

The moderator who rejected that report rejected it because as moderators, we're not encouraged to delete older posts and threads.

The three pages for the search query you took a screenshot of do not entirely consist of members using that word, and in some cases, the posts were already removed and the members were already infracted; the quoted posts just weren't removed.

Offensive terms such as the ones you posted, when used in a way to harass, degrade, or intimidate members are removed from the forum under rule 3.7.

3.7 Engaging in content that harasses, degrades, intimidates or is hateful toward an individual or group of individuals on the basis of religion, gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, age, or disability.

Or are you allowed to say "Nigger" on this forum?

Growing up in California and being mixed race (black and Hispanic) myself, I can tell you there's a big difference between these two words. Regardless, members shouldn't be using either one of them on the forum. If you find any recent posts of members using these words, feel free to report them and the posts will be removed and the members will be issued infractions.
