Hi, if I upload other people's videos in my youtube channel and give them credit by mentioning their name in the description, will I get banned or face copyright claim?
But how do I know and find out the original creator to give attribution to?Do it and you will get copyright strike even if you provide credit to them.Be careful even while uploading creative commons as their owners can still claim them.
See if they are creative commons they must be under someones's channel and if the channel has several videos around that niche maybe he is the legit owner of that.I tried to put a video licensed under creative commons but still i got copyright strike as the owner would have reported me.Even if you credit it is unlikely that they maynot cpyrightstrike you. Most youtubers know that you would make money out of their videos and they donot like the idea.Hence they may strike your video. If you wanna use their video you may contact them on their business email. But most of the videos are automatically detected by youtube and you may get a copyright strike. But how do I know and find out the original creator to give attribution to?
So the only way to know that a person is the main CC video creator is that channel should have multiple videos and not a couple of videos right?See if they are creative commons they must be under someones's channel and if the channel has several videos around that niche maybe he is the legit owner of that.I tried to put a video licensed under creative commons but still i got copyright strike as the owner would have reported me.Even if you credit it is unlikely that they maynot cpyrightstrike you. Most youtubers know that you would make money out of their videos and they donot like the idea.Hence they may strike your video. If you wanna use their video you may contact them on their business email. But most of the videos are automatically detected by youtube and you may get a copyright strike.
There might probably be other youtubers with unique content with few videos as well.Finding them might require lot of time.So the only way to know that a person is the main CC video creator is that channel should have multiple videos and not a couple of videos right?
What are some other precautions to know about cc videos?
Thanks for the input btw.
Correct. Thanks a lot mate. You have good knowledge on youtube. There might probably be other youtubers with unique content with few videos as well.Finding them might require lot of time.
Make sure you don't use entire video and provide credit as some viewers might lash at you if they find you are not the original owner.
You can add your own music if you want. Also you can reshuffle and put different thumbnails in case of compilation videos or general videos.
Almost 1 year ago I made a compilation video with magic tricks and for only 30 seconds length seqeunce with David Copperfield I got a complaint from his team and also I got a complaint from a russian TV because in the same video I used a sequence of about 30 seconds length from a russian magician who performed for their russian TV.....put different thumbnails in case of compilation videos or general videos .....
