Why Huge Sales after christmas?

Ok, this is quite strange. Today I have got almost 6500 visitors and almost 1000 clicks on my affiliate links and HUGE sales.

I am not a christian so I don't know what the traditions are after christmas. Anyone can explain that? Why do people buy too much after the day of xmas?

Many people receive vouchers and cash as gifts, and then spend them. Also a lot of people perceive this period as the best time to grab a bargain.
