I forgot to create a child theme

So, I'm editing this new website of mine, right? And I take a look at the Themes page, ya followin' me? And to my surprise, I'm editing the main theme file instead of a child theme.

Now, I do have some wp knowledge, but it barely scratches the surface tbh.

So, this is a call from Nerva to any wp/web design/development guru out there; is there a way to create a child theme with my current settings without diving into the database and shit?

Any help is appreciated.

Just create the child theme and save your changes there.

You can leave the changes in the parent file too.
These changes will be overwritten when you update your theme,
but that doesn't matter, since you have your child theme.

Follow this to create a child theme.

Move your custom css in your parent theme to new css file (shown in the video)

remove/keep those custom settings from your parent theme (doesn't matter)

Is it that simple?

Well, it might be a little difficult the first time you create a child theme.
But you'll see it's not a big problem.
Success!
