Desktop or Labtop

Debating what to use for my next IM journey.

I’m torn by the choices between getting a High End Labtop or a High End Desktop.

What do you prefer and why?

You'll get a lot more bang for your buck with a desktop. Just depends how mobile you want to be? Where are you most productive?

A laptop with an external monitor works fine for me. Don't feel the need for a desktop.

Laptops obviously have certain advantages, but I've never had a laptop last as long as a desktop.

Me personally? I'm happy with a desktop and a couple of monitors. Anything that requires more than my phone (Which isn't a lot) ill just Teamviewer in.

It really depends on how often you will be out and about working? So far how many times a month are you out and think to yourself if only I had a laptop, if it's less than twice then you prob best grabbing a desktop.

Decided to go with a labtop, I know it’s more expensive for a high end one, it just made a little more sense for my own two personal reason

• Portability- I eventually want to travel, that’s my true IM Journey
• Accountability - I can’t set up at a coffee shop to work at the tasks on hand instead of staying home and procrastinating

I think desktops have a longer life-span because they are less likely to get overheated.

I use both though the laptop is used for small tasks and non IM related stuff only.

Depends on your lifestyle. Much easier to travel around the world with a laptop... plug in a big screen...or two, keyboard and mouse when home, but can take everything you need in a laptop bag for free on the plane.
