How can an authority site got penalized ?

No, it wasn't in the health space.
Likewise, I'm not happy about it but I am working on it, the issue I have though is copying the structure of position 1 and it's backlink profile looks to be a problem in the future updates, not sure if I should ride it out doing the right things(or what we perceive to be right), or head for a model I don't believe in long term.

And sorry to quote myself but I mean in terms of following google's guidelines, I would have to swing far closer to grey area in order to compete based on current computation I can see which to me is the only flaw, or perhaps it's genius from Google. I mean, they force me to play riskier in the attempt to eventually penalise me. They are not in this for the short term after all.

Backlinks have dropped for most seos I know in console so one has to assume (although it's a snapshot) that some links have been dropped, for now at least. Are they trying to reduce resource consumption but maintain accurate searches relying on (what they perceive to be a more qualitative link)? It's a great way to streamline their operation if they can tweak and make this work. Next question I suppose is what's a good link now? It's far too early to know what to do yet and I'm still in test mode.
